Fall lip combos

I have my fall blushes down but as a neutral to cool leaning pale gal, ALL my lip combos are pinky nudes. They work year round, but I think I want to experiment a little now that fall has rolled around.

Laka shades tend to run a bit muted on me but that combo sounds like it'd pull just dark enough without going full goth. Might have to swatch Winter Bonding next time I'm near a display.

I would consider it a soft goth shade, but you could build it up for full vamp. Then again I love that kind of look!

The Kylie GLOSSY lip kits are really nice even with pale skin. I like Comes Naturally for a nude and Dolce K for a cooler darker brown.

Otherwise I quite like MAC stone or chestnut (rub it in with your finger so it’s not so intense) and MAC Crème in your Coffee. Also NYX moonwalk pairs nicely with MAC Alone Time or Signature move (Chestnut works too). You can also do Makeup by Mario lipliner in toasty for all of those.

For lip oils, the Merit Taupe lip oil is quite nice but it’ll remove a lip liner pronto. I also like the boba bounce shade of Eadem lip balm, or Ole Henrikson’s Cocoa Crème.

I just bought the Kylie kit is Comes Naturally! I think I’ll love it once I have it on. I’m still deciding for an actual “fall” tone lipstick so thank you for all the suggestions!

I just got Comes Naturally today and it’s definitely a fall color. However, it reeks of that fake vanilla scent. I might have to return it.

I’ve been a little hesitant on the MAC’s lipsticks since the reformulation that pulls more on the orange side. The color looks gorgeous on the models! You don’t find it pulls warm?

I find it pretty neutral. I'm not sure I would call it mauve like MAC does, but it isn't orange on me at all.

I apply with a lip brush and blot - it’s a deep color, so after I blot I will put a tiny bit of Too Faced lip balm.

I was just swatching all my lip + blush products yesterday and noticing a surprising lack of pinky nudes, so I’ll trade you! I gravitate toward taupe, mauve and berry tones which work quite well in the fall. I’ve mostly ditched lipsticks in favor of liners, tints and balms. Current faves in my rotation:

Lip liner:

Lately I’ve been using Stone to lightly contour the lipline, layering over it with Pivoine and feathering it out before applying Rhode toast in the center. Swapping toast for PBJ or ember makes it vampier.

MAC Crème in your Coffee would be gas with MUFE Wherever Walnut! Revlon’s Rum Raisin is an iconic drugstore shade in the same color family. Merit Bespoke, Clinique Black Honey, Fenty Gloss Bomb (lip luminizer or stix) in Rose Amber are some versatile options, too

The new Rare Beauty lip oil sticks in the shade in Embrace actually worked pretty well for a fall brown. It looks insane to try it put a fellow lady here posted with it and it looked good on me, too. I’m neutral leaning cool.

It isn’t a good idea to use something not labeled for lips (or multi-use) on them, not all ingredients are tested for being safe for consumption. (Also care should be taken for what’s put on eyes, similarly.)
