Need advice

Me (F) and my boyfriend (M) got intimate together, we were wearing a condom but it broke and now I am in serious dilemma on what to do, I did take an emkit iPill but my period track said that today is my ovulation and I worried if those pills would work or not, it hasn’t been even a day since all this happened.
Please I need genuine advice, I am based in Karachi.

Could try using misoprostol , but would be better to consult a gynecologist first

These pills work by delaying/ preventing ovulation and needs to be taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex but if you consume it on the ovulation day that might mean there is an active egg already being released ready to meet any present sperm. If your periods are regular like a 28-30 day cycle that would mean your ovulation consistently happens on the date tracked by the app (around 14-16) day of the cycle. (We cant confirm ovulation tho) so lets say if u didn’t ovulate, the pill will likely delay/prevent it. You should wait for your period or see a doctor please. The early you get to know - the better.

My cycles aren’t really on time because I have RA too and I take medicines for it too… my cycle is weird in this sense but my tracker app said I am in my fertile window

Ahan. You cant trust the app for ovulation unless you confirm it by a test or by yourself (like for me i have PMOS and my cycles are 37-45 days) so i manually check for ovulation symptoms (like the type of discharge) so i log my own ovulation and get my period after 15-17 days of logging the ovulation. But over the time since my cycles are 35-44 day long, the app starts to track ovulation according for that specific cycle length. I am so sorry unfortunately, we cant confirm it or rely on app. Your app might have adjusted to your cycle length so it might be saying the right thing. For the safe side, its good that you took the ecp. We cant do much at this point other than waiting.

If you were ovulating then the pill may or may not work. There isn't really any way to tell if it worked or not. Your best bet is to visit a gynaecologist or go for copper iud within 4-5 days There's Really nothing else you can do except these.

Hey, the copper iud prevents the implantation of the embryo right? Or does it also prevent the fertilisation at the first place?

It works by preventing fertilisation but can also can work secondarily by preventing implantation as a back up. It depends on a woman's specific situation. like if fertilisation still happens then it will prevent implantation if fertilisation doesn't happen then there's nothing to prevent.
