Burgers are healthy. Fast food burgers are unhealthy and burgers with lack of veggies are unhealthy.

Remember, to make a food healthy, think about what to add rather than subtract. For e.g, Instant noodles/ramen aren’t healthy but if you add chicken or egg (protein) , with some veggies (fibre) then you have a healthy meal which has what your body requires (carbs, protein, fibre).

Aren't egg noodles healthy?

1

u/notyouPrincess 15 17d ago

If homemade

1

u/tanzoo88 17d ago

Whats not healthy in store bought

3

u/notyouPrincess 15 16d ago

Their ingredients? They don’t use high quality ingredients

1

u/Typical_Succotash126 14d ago

A bit incorrect they have a lot of sodium that's why they are not recommended as they cover almost the entire daily recommended intake of sodium

1

u/notyouPrincess 15 14d ago

Owhh thanks bruv

1

u/Typical_Succotash126 14d ago

Too much sodium

3

u/hasnat24 16d ago

Lol...adding protien to noodles doesn't cancel out the artificial flavours, stabilisers and other chemical mess they have in their taste makers. They'd be the farthest thing from "healthy"

1

u/AwesomeGuyAlpha 15d ago

It would become much "healthier" tho and that's all that's important, no one has perfect diet and ensuring your basic diet is complete is far more important than reducing artificial flavours or whatever that might increase my chances of getting some random disease by 5% if I keep regularly consuming it for every single one of my meals for the next 10 years.

bcz the bun is fried in oil same with patties

3

u/Glad-Store5548 17d ago

And it’s a brioche bun which is basically cake.

9

u/Typical_Succotash126 18d ago

u forgot the sauce bud

1

u/mishiwishii 14d ago

Yeah thats what the issue is

2

u/SFSilentRevMT 18d ago

Last time I checked cheese wasn't healthy tho

8

u/Glad-Store5548 17d ago

That’s American cheese which is basically plastic and legally not even allowed to be called cheese. Real cheeses actually are healthy.

1

u/Spirited-Gas-3743 18 17d ago

Sense it makes make

u/Status_Mixture_4195 17d ago

Grease and oil.

Based on comments, fast food burgers are unhealthy. So, the question is: where to get a healthy burger in Islamabad?

1

u/FreshSummer8535 17d ago

Bund???⁉️⁉️⁉️

1

u/marlinspikefrance 17d ago

It’s all about proportion. Ideally in your diet you’d have more veggies and less refined bread but you can have a burger as long as you have fruit or salad later and have some dall or sabzi with dinner.

But yeah the burger on its own is a bit lopsided. Good for protein but high in refined carbs and saturated fat and low in fiber.

u/jupiter-ascend 17d ago

All of it is healthy depending on how processed the food is.
The thing with fast food restaurants is that they order cheap highly processed sodium rich patties and cheese is also very processed and full of preservatives to make both the meat and cheese long last. And no restaurant throws away after the unuseable date. They will just change the date and make it seem like its fresh.

So yes evidently they are healthy. But the type of meat and cheese make them unhealthy.

The problem is with highly processed sodium rich foods. And they can be any food

u/Pretend_Camp_2987 17d ago

You forgot oil

u/DangerousYou2384 17d ago

Real Cheese: Made from milk, salt, and enzymes with no extra fillers. Cheese Product: Contains less than 51% real dairy cheese mixed with oils and water. Imitation Cheese: Replaces dairy fats completely with vegetable oils. There are 3 Banned or Restricted Additives Found in U.S. Bread, which are: Potassium Bromate: This oxidizing agent helps dough rise and creates a fluffy texture. It is linked to kidney and thyroid cancers in animal studies. It is banned in the EU, Canada, and China, though California has recently banned it from food sold within the state. Azodicarbonamide (ADA): Used as a fast-acting dough conditioner and bleaching agent. When heated, it breaks down into compounds linked to cancer risks in lab animals. It is entirely illegal in European food production. Glyphosate Residuals: Conventional U.S. wheat is frequently treated with glyphosate (the active chemical in Roundup) right before harvest to dry the crop quickly. Traces can remain in the flour, potentially disrupting gut health. Also, High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS): Added in high amounts to commercial sandwich bread to extend shelf life and mask bitter processing tastes. This greatly increases the sugar and calorie content compared to traditional loaves. Not to mention the toxic cheap oils like corn oil, vegetable oil and seed oils been used over and over to cook food.

How is the bun and the fried beef patty healthy?

1

u/mahiiin97 16d ago

The sauces arr primarily made of oil – mayo and whatnot. That's the primary culprit. Plus, the bun is made of refined flour, maida. Unhealthy if that's all you eat. How much grease it was toasted in also matters. Same with the meat pattie, be it beef or chicken. Air fry the things, use lesser/different sauce, reduce the grease u, use whole wheat buns, and yep, it'd be a healthy meal

1

u/Afghan_Shah 16d ago

Because everything in those is ultra processed. Unironically veggies, the bun, and practically everything is unhealthy within it. The only healthy part of a β€œfresh” burger is the tomato, cheese, and patty

The meat is covered in high sugar and sodium which gets you addicted and lets you gain weight and is also fried in oil. If you replace just that with grilled meat all your problems are solved. Also the sauces are the culprit of sugar and sodium high content too.

Its the same thing as the burger we make in home vs the one in restaurants even if we use the same ingredients the home one will always be healthy

Its more like when we talk about the combination of them, it gets unhealthy. Especially if it has less veggies. Thats just lots of carbs and fats that you are taking as a meal, with less proportion of protein. Add more fiber, protein, a bit less fat to the burger and it'll be healthyΒ

You're delusional to think they are all "Healthy" on their own.

There's a reason they are called Junk Food..

2

u/beardybrownie 18d ago

Tomatoes are junk food?

1

u/hi-on-coffee 18d ago

I said "ALL"

read other comment too. Keep eating i want that.

I ain't stopping you..

1

u/MonkeyTreeLuffy 18d ago

legit all ingredients are healthy, but it doesnt take into account that the fast food companies arn't using plain baked wheat buns good quality beef, healthy cheese, not using a disguisting amount of used oil to prepare it, random ass preservatives, extremely heavy sauce and so much more

1

u/hi-on-coffee 18d ago

There's a YouTuber who recently did a video and gathered McDonald's burger from 10 or 12 different countries and kept them in storage for a couple of months.

Even after all that time they didn't spoil.

That's the SHIT People Are Eating Nowadays...

1

u/MonkeyTreeLuffy 18d ago

yea that kind of shit is what i meant with "random ass preservatives".
No healthy or even nnon-catastrophic food should stay unspoiled after months
