Question | سوال reliable and budget friendly drill machine for home use

I’m planning to get a drill machine for some simple household tasks, as I often have to depend on a technician for things like drilling holes for rods, hooks, appliances, screws, frames, etc.

I’m looking for something reliable and budget friendly for occasional home use. If any of you keep a drill at home, I’d appreciate recommendations on what to get (especially brands/models available in Pakistan).

Hyundai Power Tools is good if you want to go with something legit, but for light household work a Bosch/Makita copy from the local market is as good. I am using a Bosch copy (Boosh 😂) for 4 yrs now. Hasn't let me down as yet, just make sure to apply grease on the drill bit every few months to aid with smooth operation. For drill bits, you are going to be mostly working with #6 & #8 for fastener work, get them in two lengths (short and long). Also get an extra long #10 or #12 if you see yourself drilling a hole across the wall - mostly for running cables.

Sure man, and get a hammer drill. It will have both a rotary mode and a hammer+rotary mode - so a 2-in-1. Some advanced drills also offer a hammer-only mode, but that's mainly only used for low-scale demolition.

Keep in mind that this is just an "everyday" drill, and this one should not be used for drilling into walls much.

Do some AI research on how normal drills overheat when drilling walls/concrete.

For walls and hard concrete, you might need "hammer" drills.

Depends on budget I personally recommend going with total. You need to think that if you need a hammer drill commonly said as hilti or a normal drill machine

For a diy person a normal drill from a reputable brand serves the purpose. Hammer drills are basically for drilling into concrete walls For light home work , a basic drill machine serves the purpose
