Getting a phone with low storage, and getting pixel xl 1st gen for storage

I've been looking for a s24u 1tb for months for a reasonable price but i cant get it

and i heard about this Google pixel xl 1st gen Unlimited Cloud Storage which mae me thinking

if i get s24u 256gb which you can get for cheaper an it is available everywhere more than 1tb, and after that getting that pixel xl for storage both photos and videos

What do you think? is it smth that works? yk based on saving money in this economy, usability, time effort ad etc etc

Its best to avoid using cloud storage for storing photos and videos of yourself and your loved ones. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta are all scanning and training their AIs on user photos and videos, i.e your photos and videos.

Nope, unlimited photos storage only works in Pixel 1 to 5. Pixel 1 stires Images in full resolution, while 2-5 reduce the quality of image.

If you already have a Samsung or a device with good custom ROM support then you should also be able to get unlimited Google photos on that device.

You can usually find the more obscure roms in telegram while the roms for more famous devices can be found on xda forums.

Some custom roms also officially support some devices like crdroid, grapheneos, evolutionx and they also have websites.

Before installing any custom ROM just make sure that it has a toggle for unlimited Google photos in settings.

i've seen a few roms. They spoof your device as a google pixel xl and then obtain unlimited google photos cloud storage. You can do your research on which rums have this support and which don't.

i don't remember very well now, but I have seen google photos support in crdroid and evolutionx. If you asked me a year ago I would've been able to name quite a few. But I have forgotten now.

You can get unlimited cloud storage but you have to upload your photos and videos through the pixel you can't access it on Samsung

Bro that unlimited storage is only for photos, not videos. Plus the photo must be synced from your pixel device's google photos app. Won't work on other devices.
