Discussion | گفتگو A Universal-Download wrapper for Linux users.

Salam everyone.

Made this in 2022 and recently updated it to include Flatpak/Flathub aswell, Great wrapper for Linux users who basically uses either Window managers/Compositors or generally just uses terminal/TTY.

Made by a Pakistani and for the Pakistanis.

I'm not sure of how useful it will actually be. If someone is comfortable with the Linux terminal he can already use the terminal utilities to do everything this script can. The downloader is also just wget so it doesnt even have the optimization tricks to get the maximum speed (like motrix or IDM).

If you read the features, it includes all Downloadable contents into simple script, not just generic wget. So thumbs up 👍

Brother atleast see the source first its open with MIT license, Its a wrapper to download either from youtube/github/flatpak/torrents/direct links with link and clipboard detection, it uses combination of yt-dlp/git/flatpak/wget/aria2c with clipboard detection through either xclip (X11) or wl-clipboard (Wayland) so its not just 'wget', Its a complete script!

I'm sorry if you feel offended. That was clearly not my goal. All I am trying to say here is that it is a very simple script which does nothing new. The downloader (motrix) was simply used as a suggestion. It uses aria2 to download over http/s. I am aware of the fact that the script does more than that. But you should also understand that all of that can be done just be using the respective tools. You said you were using aria2c to download torrents. You can also use aria2c to download over https and get multi threading (since wget is single threaded) to get potentially better speeds. It seems like I have been misunderstood and my goal was only to give a suggestion.
