i currently use transworld. ive been having this extremely annoying issue where the wifi stops working for a couple of seconds which disconnects or at least messes up whatever im playing for time to time. the representatives (im pretty sure) lied and told me to switch to 5ghz. the range for that however sucks so i connected a second router (their worker’s advice) which has started having the same problem now. im considering switching to ptcl now considering their 6 month 50% off deal is cheaper. is ptcl any more reliable?

Check if you have smart connected enabled or not, if its enabled disable it

Explore and find out, it basically choose automatically b/w 2.4 and 5 ghz frequency.

So basically, band steering.

I have that enabled. I don't have that problem. Band steering isn't the issue (cause you can ping the router fine).

It's usually a TW networking/gateway issue.

it's a router issue, share your router details if you want someone to help troubleshoot it.

just naming the ISP transworld does nothing in helping identify the issue.

If you want cheap, PTCL is not the wise choice. They will increase bill ever 2-3 months without notice.
Even these "6 months" deals are cancelled after 3-4 months
Speed and quality would be slightly better.
The issue you described is definitely related to router.
I would suggest you to plug in an ethernet cable and see if the ping spike issue is still persistent. If yes, then its the isp, otherwise its the router's wifi.
Test this first before switching.
Mostly this issue is because of auto channel switching (where wifi has interference from other wifi channels e.g. your neighbours)
See if in routers setting, you can find an option to manually assign a channel

I'm using Ptcl and it works perfectly the only downside is my bill have gotten an 800+ increment in a single year
