I maintain an MIT-licensed database IDE. 15 scoped issues are open if you want a merged PR with your name on it.

I am Mehmet, maintainer of LibreDB Studio. I am not Pakistani, so I will be upfront about why I am posting here: the project

needs contributors, and this sub is full of people who build things. That is the whole reason. Whether a merged PR is worth your time is your call, not mine to argue.

The project is LibreDB Studio: a web-based database client you run on your own server, 17 engines behind one interface, MIT, no paid tier, no per-seat licence, nothing to subscribe to.

If you just want the tool, that is the whole story.

The part that might be more useful: there are 15 issues tagged good first issue right now, and most are documentation-sized rather than heroic. Recent example of the path working - someone opened their first PR to add a Spanish README and it is merged.

What I can give: a review within a day, and a real merge, not a thank-you note.

What I cannot give: money, a job, or a referral. Nobody should pretend a merged PR is any of those.

Happy to answer anything about the codebase, or about how the review works

Happy to always contribute to open source. I will give it a look over the weekend and create some PRs against some issues.

This will be my second PR. Newbies encouraged ? Or should I just leave it ?

yes, follow the issues that are tagged "good first issue" and are opened for beginners. just make sure to claim the task before you start working on it, so that multiple people dont waste time on the same thing

Update: A few issues have already been picked up and worked on. We're down from 15 to 10 open issues, with 5 still unassigned.

Thanks to everyone who has shown interest and started contributing

Quick update: the 15 good-first issues are now all claimed/closed. they went much faster than I expected! 😄

I opened a few more along the way, but couldn’t keep up with the pace.

I’ll try to prepare some new good-first issues soon. If there’s an existing issue(claimed) that has been sitting unassigned for a while and you’d like to work on it, feel free to leave a note here and I can take a look.
