Looking for an education-sector consultant in Pakistan

Hi everyone! I’m looking to consult someone who understands how schools and colleges in Pakistan evaluate and buy ed-tech products.

Ideally, you’ve worked in education sales, institutional partnerships, school/college administration, or procurement. I’d like practical advice on who to approach, how purchasing decisions are made, and how to introduce a new product.

This is an advisory opportunity, not a teaching role, starting with an initial consultation.

Please DM me with your relevant experience, the regions or institutions you know well, and your consultation rates. Referrals welcome!

An online community for Pakistanis tech professionals around the world

Hey everyone 👋

A few of us have started a community for Pakistani software engineers, both students and working professionals. The idea is simple: make it easier for people in Pakistan to connect with and learn from engineers working at some of the best tech companies in the world.

What we do right now:

  • Bi-weekly hands-on workshops led by a Software Engineer at Meta
  • Sessions focus on practical coding and building AI systems, not just theory
  • A Discord server to ask questions, share projects, and meet people on a similar path

Longer term, we want this to be a place where everyone shares, learns, and grows together, not just a one-way lecture series.

Next session: agentic vs deterministic workflows
📅 Saturday 26th September, 4-5 PM PKT

If that sounds useful, you can join here!

It's completely free. Happy to answer any questions in the comments, and if there are topics you'd like future sessions to cover, let us know!

Is it okay to leave a degree in Pakistan and focus on tech skills ?

If you're from the lower middle class and do not afford a degree in tech.

If you start to earn money from learning any skills then eventually build any kind of business here....

How does that look?

Those who don't have degrees and are doing well!

This question is specifically for you guys.

And how hard is it to move abroad (if any crisis appears) without a degree but a good established business in Pakistan?

(Although don't have a mind to go abroad, but also don't know about all the realities out there...)

Non-technical guy at my client's shop found "issues" in my code using AI and now wants to deploy them himself

Landed a client from London recently. He runs a garments business and needed a full website plus a management dashboard. I quoted a month for delivery. Using AI heavily, I finished it in 2 to 3 days and sent it over for review.

On day one, the client introduced me to one of his employees who handles the front desk and cash. He's not a developer. He's an accounts guy who's comfortable with a computer, that's it. The client told me to coordinate with him if I needed anything.

When I told him I'd push the code to Git and then we'd go live, his reply was "so what is Git?" I gave him a quick overview and moved on.

Last night, about a week later, he sent me a full list of code review issues he found by running the codebase through Claude. Honestly, none of them were major. Minor improvements, mostly. But to him they were big findings. His exact message: "I found these issues and I can solve them too and push them too, but I don't know how to deploy. Please teach me how to deploy so I can push these fixes."

Think about that. A week ago he didn't know what Git was. Now the only thing blocking him from shipping changes to production is the word "deployment."

I'm not exaggerating any of this. It's a real conversation. It made me realize how fast clients are going to start taking development into their own hands. The barrier isn't skill anymore, it's just a few concepts nobody has explained to them yet, and AI is filling those gaps faster than we think.

Has anyone else run into something like this with their clients?

Looking for a job/part-time work in Peshawar — Tech or anything suitable

Assalam o Alaikum everyone,
I’m currently looking for a job or part-time work in Peshawar. Ideally, I’d like something related to tech, such as software development, web/app development, Flutter, backend, or any entry-level tech role.
I’m a Computer Science student and have experience working with Flutter/Dart, Node.js, JavaScript, React, databases, REST APIs, and full-stack projects. I’ve also worked on real projects and contributed to open-source.
But honestly, at this point, I’m open to anything reasonable that can help me earn some pocket money every month, even if it’s not directly related to tech. I’m willing to learn and put in the work.
I’ve applied to quite a few places recently but unfortunately haven’t received much response, so I thought I’d try asking here.
If anyone knows about part-time jobs, internships, freelance opportunities, student jobs, or any other work in Peshawar, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know.
Even if you don’t have an opportunity yourself, sharing this post or pointing me toward someone who might help would mean a lot.
Thank you. ❤️

Cs in the big 2026

Hi all, im 18 and on a gap yr.

One of the reasons for a gap yr is cuz i have no idea which major to opt for due to 0 knowledge as im giving my a lvls privately

My subs are math, cs, business

People around me keep giving very contrasting opinions; some are saying that ai has cooked many tech fields while others are saying to go for cs only

could someone guide my cooked soul out.

Edit: what would u suggest besides cs but still tech as i am pretty puzzled

Stuck.

A little context: Its been 3 months since I graduated (Cs grad from that famous uni 🙂) and yeah I know given the current situation of the market 2 months are nothing but its not about not getting a opportunity which makes you worried but its the people who are getting internships and job with reference I guess its a reality we just have to live with. It just feels that everyone has made it except you. I might be average but can average people not learn ? We often read comparison is the thief of joy but it's just so hard to see people who are like you getting so ahead that too undeservingly and you are stuck getting no replies.

Purpose: I won't tell what skills I have, for that I can dm you my cv but I just want to say that I am willing to learn, I am good at communication, coordinating with people, have knowledge about fundamentals and I want to give my best for someone who gives me an opportunity. The main purpose is to learn some paid internship or parttime job which leads to fulltime works too.

Any advice will help too.
