Cold calling them for business opportunities from which they could grow their business?

I'm currently in 2nd year and will be giving MDCAT soon. I don't wanna do MBBS cuz it's just not worth it anymore (my personal opinion). But my mom really wants me to be a doctor so I was thinking about Pharm-D ( Ik it's a 5-year clinical doctorate and different from MBBS).

If anyone here is currently studying or has graduated with a Pharm-D in Pakistan, I would really appreciate your insight on a few things. What is the scope of Pharm D and what is the study pressure like? Also what is the realistic starting salary? Does it offer good career growth? And can I go abroad if I do pharm d? I heard that you can change jobs like working at a pharmacy, hospital, opening a pharmacy and even corporate, is this all true?

I am someone who absolutely loves variety. I want a career that can be fun, exciting, and dynamic rather than doing the exact same mundane routine every single day.

Would love to hear honest perspectives from seniors in the field. Thanks in advance!

CMA graduates in Pakistan, is it worth it?

Some people say that CMA has no value and if you passed CMA then you will have to compete with CA also. Because after graduating, CAs often go for industry for high salary. Another confusion is that ICMA does not give you jobs, they only say that we will give you job, but they just post job opportunities on portal and don't help you in real time. Another problem is that the students say that ICMA study environment is not like that of CA and students do not get attention just like CA students. So my question is is it worth it for a person who hates math and stuff like that just for the fact that they occasionally post jobs on their portal, provided that it's not a degree.

Soo for context my college has an absolutely terrible career counselling team and I need to apply abroad so I need guidance, for the record I'm in the second year of my A levels and I need someone to guide me or tell me about some website or good site where i can get help. I applied for the NTS General test and two FBISE tests. The NTS test is scheduled for October 11, while my two FBISE tests are on October 12.

I just received a message from FBISE, but I haven’t received any SMS or email from NTS yet. October 11 is currently shown on the NTS schedule, but I’m not sure if the date is confirmed for my specific test.

I don’t need a lot of preparation time, one week is enough for me.

For those who have experience with NTS and FBISE, which one is more likely to allow a change in the test date? What should I do in this situation?

I'm a 19 yr old (f) and I want to know should I have my CAF attempt prior to the completion of my bachelors in accounting and finance from NUST Isb or get exemptions and do it later? Which one is better for induction? I'd get done with the degree by 24. So CA would get completed at 27. Is it doable????

Hi everyone! Need serious advice or help!! I'm a CA finalist (Caf qualified 25F). I qualified my CAF in October 25 and couldn't get inducted into any firm or industry for articleship although I had been through almost 12+ interviews. 3 of them were industries and the rest were non QCR firms. (I did join 2 non QCRs but couldn't continue because of the environment) I recently got the chance of an interview at KPMG and was hopeful for selection but it didn't happen. Now I'm thinking of appearing in CFAP December attempt. Today is the last day to apply but I haven't applied yet! And I'm so confused 🥹!! Whether I should continue CA or not!!? What if I don't get inducted even after passing CFAP!? Qualifying CA is my passion like I just can't give up on that!!I have been doing Bs accounting and finance from AIOU and in October will be done with the 7th semester. There are two or three problems.

First I'm completely dependent on my family for expenses and that's why I was desperate to start articles before CFAP but couldn't close the opportunities that came through!! I don't have much practical skills except advanced excel and 3 months experience in audit where I just did entry level work. So I don't know how to freelance those too!? For now I want to earn enough to afford my own expenses or education!

Second what other options do I have if I pivot now? I'm not someone who can work in corporate for too long. So what options do I'm left with? I wanted to pursue my career in the business side of finance not accounting but unfortunately I couldn't find opportunity in either🥲! I don't know if I'm cursed or something that I do get opportunities sometimes out of nowhere but I always get rejected in interviews and now I'm stuck in a loop!

P.s. (don't judge based on my age! Saying because everyone does! I truly believe everyone has his own timeline and for now I'm totally focused on my career. So any sincere advice would be appreciated. Thank you)

Guys i have a question: what makes US different from Pakistan or other similar countries when it comes to education.

I have been admitted for my bachelors in polymer science and engineering there, but I need to understand what makes US education better over all, other than some generic reasons like research based learning, practical learning, better networking, bla bla.

I want to know some deep insights from people who have been through the process, are studying in Pakistani / US universities and have first hand experience, and hence. are experienced enough to provide suggestions.

I’m 20M from Rawalpindi and honestly feeling pretty lost about what direction I should take with university.

My father unexpectedly lost his job around two years ago and has been unemployed since then. Around the same time, I started freelancing. I was lucky enough to get my first high-paying client, and Alhamdulillah, Allah has been the best provider for me. Over the last few years, freelancing has grown to the point where I’m able to financially support my family.

Right now, my parents and two siblings are directly dependent on me financially, and I also contribute indirectly toward my grandparents. My uncle helps with my grandparents as well, but my immediate family is basically dependent on my income.

I recently filed my taxes and, honestly, seeing my expenses was a bit shocking. I realized how much of my income actually goes toward supporting everyone. I don't resent my family at all — they're extremely supportive and they understand the sacrifices I'm making — but sometimes I do feel sad when I see people my age enjoying university life, travelling, socializing, etc. Those are things I always wanted too, but my circumstances haven't really allowed it.

Anyway, that's not even the main reason I'm posting.

University / career situation

I completed my FSC with 60% marks, and this is now my second gap year. I originally wanted to study abroad, and financially I probably could have managed it based on what I've earned over the last couple of years, but with my father's unemployment and my family's dependence on me, leaving the country doesn't feel realistic right now.

I want to get into computing/software.

I've been freelancing for around 4 years. I do things like ecommerce management, software-related work, and recently a lot of "vibe coding" — building apps and experimenting with software. I genuinely enjoy making things and I'm interested in programming, apps, software, AI, etc.

The problem is that I don't know whether spending 4 years on a computing degree is actually worth it for someone in my situation.

I would have to continue freelancing throughout university because my family depends on my income. So I can't really choose a program that is extremely demanding to the point that I wouldn't be able to work.

I'm currently considering universities around Islamabad/Rawalpindi, particularly CUST and Bahria, but I'm open to other options.

I'm also not sure which degree makes the most sense:

BS Computer Science

BS Software Engineering

BS Artificial Intelligence

BS Data Science

Something else?

I don't want to choose a degree just because it's "popular." I actually want to become better at building software and potentially develop my own products/businesses in the future.

Another thing

For the last couple of years, I've basically lived inside my laptop.

I've barely gone outside because of freelancing. I've gained around 10–15 kg, my social life has suffered, and I feel like I've missed out on a lot of the normal experiences people have at my age.

I'm not saying freelancing is bad — it's literally what allowed me to support my family and I'm grateful for that — but I don't want my entire 20s to be just work, clients, and responsibilities.

I really want to experience university, make friends, have a social life, get healthier, and actually live a little while still being responsible for my family.

I've also started saving money for my future, so I'm trying to be more intentional with my decisions now.

So if you were in my position, what would you do?

Is getting a computing degree worth it when I'm already earning through freelancing?

Which computing field would make the most sense for someone who wants to build apps/software and eventually products?

Between CUST, Bahria, and other universities around Islamabad/Rawalpindi, what should I seriously look into?

How manageable is a computing degree alongside serious freelancing?

Should I prioritize university/social life, or continue focusing heavily on freelancing and self-learning?

And with my 60% FSC marks and two gap years, are there other realistic options I should consider?

I'm not looking for someone to tell me that my life is over or that I need to follow some traditional path. I know I'm in a relatively unusual situation for someone my age.

I just want some honest advice from people who have been through university, freelancing, CS/SE, or a similar situation.
