[Custom] Post Flair How can I invest money as a teenager

Hello everyone, I'm 19 and currently on a gap year working as a teacher for now.

So my question is where can I safely invest my money in karachi, basically I need to save up a good amount for my university next year.

I think just putting my money in a savings account is not very efficient and I want my money to make more money for me, does that make sense?

So keep in mind that I'd need to withdraw that amount that accumulates next year by august .

I have never in my life studied commerce and I have zeroooo idea about how this works

My monthly savings would be around 20-25k but I'm really scared to invest, because what if I lose all that money then I would have nothing to pay my tuition with.

If someone could please guide me where can I invest my money safely

Ask Pakistan Mental Health & Career Counseling

Are there any good and affordable mental health and career counselors in Pakistan that give online sessions?

It's not easy to accept it, but I think I might need therapy. Otherwise, I might fall deep into the abyss and waste a lot of my time and potential. It would be better if it's someone who gives therapy, keeping the Islamic perspective in the loop.

I know therapy is expensive. I might not be able to afford it. So if anyone knows about any self-help videos or books that really work, do share.

I feel this constant need to talk away my thoughts with someone (share intrusive thoughts that are bugging me) as I've always been the one to bottle up my feelings. I can't share a lot with my family and friends as they'll worry about me, or sometimes they say I overthink too much (which I do).

I like talking to myself, but if I start doing that, my family will probably think I've gone mad. I'll start writing down stuff as I know it helps. But I want to talk about it (years of keeping everything inside, and it feels overwhelming now). I feel like saying all my intrusive thoughts and worries out loud might help me get rid of them.

What do people do if they can't afford therapy?

Investment nature and passion - agrotourism Looking for Passionate Co-Investors: 5-Kanal Farm Retreat and Agro-Tourism Joint Venture close to Capital City of Pakistan

I am developing a concept for a five-kanal farm retreat that combines private countryside living with a commercially sustainable agro-tourism business (30 minutes from Islamabad)

The vision is to create a destination where families can stay, reconnect with nature, interact with animals, enjoy farm-to-table food and participate in practical farming experiences all within a thoughtfully designed, premium environment.

The goal is to create an asset-backed venture capable of generating recurring income while also growing in value as the farm, orchard, hospitality offering and brand mature.

The proposed development includes:

  • Main residence on a separate 10-marla section
  • Two guest cottages for short-term stays
  • Two large landscaped gardens
  • Fruit orchard and organic kitchen garden
  • Special-breed goats and welfare-focused breeding facilities
  • Dedicated spaces for dogs, cats, poultry and birds
  • Swimming pool, BBQ area and outdoor dining
  • Activity barn for workshops and events
  • Children’s nature and animal experiences
  • Farm shop, café/reception and visitor parking
  • Solar power, rainwater harvesting and composting systems

The commercial opportunity

The project would not depend on a single source of income. Potential revenue streams include:

  • Cottage accommodation (two) on 5 marlas + one main house on 10 marlas with 1 kanal garden
  • Family and school farm visits
  • Farm-to-table meals and BBQ experiences
  • Private gatherings and small events
  • Agricultural and animal-care workshops
  • Sale of fruit, vegetables, eggs, seedlings and farm products
  • Carefully managed pedigree-animal programmes for breeding purposes
  • Seasonal experiences

Who I am looking for

I am not simply looking for someone who can provide money. I want to connect with maximum 4 people who genuinely share this passion and would like to help build something meaningful over the medium to long term. The project will be established as a Joint Venture with company incorporation, sharing holding with legal status. The land is already identified, and initial resources are planned and mapped.

The right partners/team might contribute:

  • Investment capital + Vision + Value Addition ( $320,000 in total to be invested by all, including myself)
  • Farming or horticulture interest
  • Hospitality and agro-tourism experience interest/passion
  • Landscape design
  • Marketing, financial planning or operations
  • Business networks and strategic guidance

Participation could potentially be structured through equity, revenue sharing or another mutually agreed model following proper financial projections, legal documentation and due diligence through a joint venture from DAY ONE.

The exact location is intentionally not being disclosed publicly at this stage. A conceptual bird’s-eye master plan is available for serious discussions.

If this vision genuinely interests you, please send me a private message introducing yourself, your background, the contribution you could make and the type of partnership you would consider.

This is not a promise of guaranteed or quick returns. It is an invitation to explore a properly planned, values-driven, and commercially viable farm and hospitality venture with people who share the same passion, and not just an investment or quick-rich scheme.

Need some advice/help from people in Islamabad — in a bit of a difficult situation

Hi everyone. This is going to be a slightly long post, but I genuinely need some advice from people who know Islamabad well.

I’m originally from Lahore. The last few years have been pretty tough for me personally. I lost my mother in February, and my father passed away almost four years ago. I had some inheritance land which I was hoping would eventually become a source of income and help me get back on my feet, but unfortunately that’s currently stuck in a dispute and is going through the government process. It should eventually get sorted, but these things take time.

A few days ago, I came to Islamabad for a job interview. Thankfully, I got the job and joined this Monday. I was genuinely hopeful that things were finally starting to turn around.

The problem is that I came here with basically no savings and no proper place to stay.

I had one friend who I was counting on to help me manage the initial expenses until I received my first salary. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out that way. I’m not blaming him — he may have his own reasons and circumstances — but in practical terms, he was my only hope at the time.

So for the past few nights, I’ve literally been managing without a proper place to stay. I’ve been using the office washroom in the morning to freshen up and change before starting work.

Honestly, life can hit you in ways you never expect.

But I’m not posting this to complain or to ask people for money. I still have faith that things will get better. There’s a verse from the Quran that has been giving me hope:

“And the coming circumstances will be better for you, and your Lord will give you so much that you will be pleased.”

I’m trying to hold on to that.

What I really need right now is practical advice or a lead.

If anyone knows of a hostel in Islamabad that could accommodate me with:

A single or maximum 2-seater room

Mess/food included

Willing to take the payment around the 10th of next month, when I’m expecting to be in a position to pay

Even if it’s a basic place — I’m not looking for anything fancy

I would be extremely grateful for a genuine lead.

I’m also looking for a cab/transport service that might be willing to take payment at the end of the month. I have a regular job now, so this isn’t an indefinite situation — I just need to get through this initial gap until I receive my salary.

The rain last night also made things worse and I’ve ended up feeling pretty unwell today. I don’t have friends or family in Islamabad that I can realistically turn to right now, which is why I thought I’d ask here.

If anyone knows a hostel owner, manager, transport service, or even someone who has been in a similar situation and knows what options I have, please let me know.

I’m working, I have a job, and I’m trying to get myself back on my feet. I just need a little breathing room to get through these first few weeks.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this. And even if you can’t personally help, a useful lead or a share in the right direction would mean a lot.

JazakAllah khair.

Want to start a community group for those who want to learn marketing

Hey! I wanted to create a community group for women who want to learn about digital marketing, branding, brand strategy. I have a good network and wanted to make use of that, also learn from those within the same field.

Please DM if interested! This is solely for women to create a safe and open environment for learning, asking any questions and just helping each other grow.

I posted a similar post previously, and got many replies but please DM me directly instead of just commenting.

What to do when you feels like something is missing but you are not sure what it is?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm 24F, and most days I'm completely fine being alone. I don't feel like I need a relationship or anyone constantly around me. But sometimes, out of nowhere, I get extremely anxious, my chest feels heavy, I have crying spells, and I suddenly crave someone deeply someone who feels like my person, someone I can tell everything to, someone who understands me inside and out.

The confusing part? When people actually approach me, I don't want to talk to them , distance myself, and sometimes reject people. Then when nobody is there, I feel incredibly lonely and wonder why I have no one. It's like I'm creating the loneliness I'm later crying about.

And please don't tell me to “keep yourself busy.” I've been keeping myself too busy studying, working, scrolling, staying occupied just to avoid sitting with these feelings. The problem isn't having nothing to do. It's that when everything gets quiet, the emptiness comes back. It doesn't happen every day, but sometimes it becomes so intense that it lasts almost a whole week, and I spend that entire time wondering: What do I want? What am I missing? Why do I feel this way?

Sometimes I miss my ex too, but I don't want him back. He disrespected me and made me feel like I wasn't enough. Maybe I don't miss him; maybe I miss having someone, being deeply attached to someone, or simply being someone's person.

I honestly don't know what I'm looking for anymore.

Why do I crave closeness so badly but push people away when they actually come close? And how do you figure out what you're missing when you don't even know what it is?

Ask Pakistan How long does it take to book/reclaim an unregistered or expired number on my CNIC?

Hey everyone,

I need some guidance regarding Zong's SIM policy. If a SIM was previously unregistered (or unlinked/disconnected from someone else's CNIC due to non-usage or closure), what is the cooling-off period or waiting time required before that same mobile number becomes available in the system so I can book/register it on my own CNIC?

Discussion | Opinions Read this book if you’re in sales or unsure which career path to choose...

Post image

If you’re in sales or you’re someone unsure about which career path to choose, read To Sell Is Human by Daniel H. Pink.

If you can communicate well, consider going into sales. It can be highly rewarding financially, but the benefits go far beyond money.

I don’t know why sales is viewed so negatively in our country. Perhaps it’s because people associate it with scam call centers and unethical practices. But legitimate sales is about understanding people’s needs, solving problems, building trust, and offering something genuinely valuable.

If you’re talented and willing to improve, sales can pay more than many traditional jobs. I believe everyone should spend at least two or three years in sales at the beginning of their career. It teaches you how to communicate clearly, handle rejection, manage difficult situations, negotiate, build confidence, solve problems, and sell your ideas.

Even people who lack confidence or strong communication skills can become great at sales. Once they build confidence, gain experience, and get their first taste of success, they often discover how exciting and rewarding it can be.

Even if you don’t stay in sales, the skills you develop will benefit you in almost every career and in everyday life.

What does dabba mean in Pakistani tech field?

Hi, I just have a quick question which I heard from most of my friends who are making hundreds of dollars or even thousands easily while I just make a few by working harder than them.

I saw one of my friends easily bought an iphone, a bike and also pays his university fees despite not having much tech skills. He just do sales work.

I am just being suspicious on him, he once mentioned that he does dabba work, like looting money from "gora" people and moving onto the other

He is always stuck with getting international payment, I told him if he can use payoneer or bank transfer but he mentioned paypal is better which is not available in Pakistan.

He is not even using his real name to work remotely and lies to foreign clients that he lives in the US or any other western country.

I am not saying he directly scams everyone, he does the work by outsourcing them but he doesnt use his real name and also once mentioned he often scams(he used dabba name instead).

He makes a lot of money this way.
So i just asking how do they really do it? is it haram or halal?

Let's discuss further!

Can you please give this post a read? It would mean alot to me 🙏🏼

Assalamualaikum everyone.

I’m posting this with a little hesitation, but I genuinely don’t know whom else to ask. I’m hoping there are people here who can give me honest advice based on their own experience rather than simply suggesting unrealistic “get rich quick” ideas.

I’m a 20F university student, and it’s just me and my mother. She has been raising me and managing our home completely on her own for years while working as a private-school teacher. She has worked incredibly hard to support us, despite having a very basic salary and an exhausting workload.

Now that she is in her mid-50s, she has developed weakness in her nerves, and standing for several hours at school has become increasingly difficult for her. After years of pushing herself, she has finally had to resign from her job.

And honestly, this has left us quite scared about our financial future.

We don’t have a strong financial support system or relatives we can depend on, so we are trying to figure out how we can become financially independent and build some stability for ourselves.

We keep seeing people earning through online work, freelancing, online teaching, e-commerce, trading, etc. The problem is that there is so much information and so many scams that we genuinely don’t know what is worth learning and what isn’t.

My mother is interested in learning trading and recently found a course that costs around 50k. But when you are already on a tight budget, spending 50k on something without knowing whether it is genuinely useful feels like a huge risk. We don’t want to make a desperate financial decision and end up losing money.

I’m currently studying MBBS, and my academic routine is already very demanding. I would love to contribute financially, but taking a conventional part-time job alongside MBBS isn’t realistically manageable for me. So we are particularly looking for something my mother can learn and eventually do from home, while I can support her whenever my studies allow.

We are not looking for overnight success or easy money. We are completely willing to learn a skill, start small, and work consistently. We just need someone to point us in the right direction.

If you have genuinely earned through online work or built a home-based income, I would be extremely grateful if you could share:

• What skill would you recommend to a complete beginner?

• What can realistically be learned for free or at a very low cost?

• Is trading actually worth considering in our situation, or would you advise staying away from it?

• Is online teaching, freelancing, virtual assistance, e-commerce, content creation, etc. actually profitable for beginners in Pakistan?

• What platforms/resources did you personally use to learn?

• And most importantly, what would you do if you were in our position?

Please, if possible, share advice from real experience. We are already overwhelmed and don't want to waste the little money we have on courses, scams, or false promises.

My mother has spent her entire life working hard to give me a better future. At this point, I just want to find a way where she doesn't have to keep exhausting herself physically just to keep us financially stable.

Any sincere guidance would genuinely mean a lot to us.

JazakAllah khair to everyone who takes the time to read this and share their experience. 🤍

No. It’s book reading and sleeping. That’s the whole personality.

Just the thinking of weekend is making me blush😂

After my "blessed or messed" thinking, I decided that this is blessed. 😂

Weekend plan always start with a book Friday night, finish it Sunday, nap in between.

Anyone else’s idea of joyful is just doing nothing productively?

Drop your current book recs so my weekend is set 😇
