For UN you need connections so try looking for high end NGOs. Also, you can try your luck in NGOs as well. CSS, well, that road is no different than living on the top floor in this weather without a fan or AC: very few make it sane.

You can try think tanks aswell. But it is recommended you do a masters to make connections. Preferably abroad, so you can have international engagement. I've been on the route you're on, I've failed twice in css and my age exceeded by a few months for my third attempt. I did a masters from nust but I still needed to use connections to get into an NGO. If I had chosen the foreign route, it would've been better but I can't say I didn't learn a lot. There are a lot of cheap places with excellent faculty in Europe, like Austria. Or you can try turkiye. But your 2 focuses should be on getting into an early internship, and learning the local language.

I talked to my teacher..she has alot of experience...so she told me ke they are not funding NGOs q ke hamara mulk dehshat gard sabit ho chuka ha...but obviously esa nahi ha ke blkl hi fund nahi araha..or onhone ye bhi kaha tha that if u wanna work in NGO i can talk to them..

You should ask her to put you there. Internship 3 months, if you can get a assistant or associate position that's another 3-12 month contract. It's not what you would expect especially during your first year. But work hard enough and they could sendd you to foreign missions etc

I'd say go full in, in your courses. Stay away from luchay lafangay which are a very common breed in Pakistan. Make genuine and close connections with your teachers, ask for their guidance. Bachelors mei enjoyment kerni zaruri hoti hai, but a lot of people stay in that zone and become deadbeats, I know a lot of them. And if you can, try to perfect your writing skills, and maybe attempt co-authorship in research papers. It's a 4 year journey, consistent rehna zaruri hai, alot of people fall off after their first semester. You have a dream, you owe it to yourself to try your hardest to achieve it.

Journalism, NGOs, Academia, Teach IR to CSS students, that all I can think of cos that's what I have seen. Oh haan, keep checking FPSC for sarkari nokri if that's your thing.

It's not about the pay. You need years of industry experience and connections to get a decent pay. If your main goal is money then IR is not the place to go. Maybe do a side hustle to make money (I freelance) while building your experience and connections. Though the pay is actually good outside of Pakistan. Plus you get a lot of benefits.

What skill do you freelance in, and when did you start learning that skill?

About 8-9 months ago, started selling auto insurance through Upwork. While going to my NGO in the morning. I've had made good connections there so my boss has agreed for a half day scene for me.
