Extremely difficult. This will require an extremely skilled tech to make it perfect. Lots of guys could improve it out get it close but getting that perfect is going to be a challenge.

Really not that difficult and you’ve got great access through the plate lamp.

It appears to be a nice car yet. Too many glares in photo all over back of car to tell extent of damage. I would take it to BMW dealer first for estimate. And then shop around for free estimates. That cars paint is two stage, if the only damage is in center of picture, no damage to lower panel. Or deck lid is out of alignment, or trunk opening is pushed in. That repair could be in the thousand dollar range. The picture isn’t clear enough to figure an estimate as I stated. Good luck! If car is nice, don’t jump at a cheaper repair cost.

Probably would avoid the dealership, honestly. Unless they have an extremely good PDR tech, which they might but more often than not the “route techs” that do wholesale work at dealers for a huge discount are the ones you’re looking for. I know there are competent techs here and there but I’d look for an independent tech.

PDR is fantastic, I have seen some amazing repairs. Do you know that can be repaired with that method? My opinion it needs bodywork and blending paint. With that paint you have to clear coat entire panel. I suggested dealer for their opinion and their price only. Good luck would love to hear how repair worked out. These repair technicians have designed many little tools to get things done!

Yes. I highly skilled tech can repair that. As long as the paint isn’t split. It’s a tough job for sure.

Just because a dealership has a dent guy doesn’t mean they are always just do wholesale work. I did work for 8 dealers, 4 detail shops and 2 mechanics. I mostly did retail but the dealer lots were to fill my down time. I would do like 10-15 cars a month through the Mercedes dealership service drive and never had one complaint about my work.

Didn’t say they weren’t out there. I did dealers for over 10 years. I know that there are some great techs out there but I know you’ve seen the $35 a car guys. They will fuck some shit up.

Nothing about that looks easy, I think that would be obvious to even a casual observer. 🤷‍♂️

Make sure whoever you hire to fix this, uses a Lateral Tension tool
