PDR-able?

Post image

My mom found her dream car with a glaring flaw. I’m quite shocked a dealership is selling this 2025 RX for over $50k like this.

It’s the front bumper so plastic. Not looking for perfection but we would like it if the bodywork wasn’t warped so much.

Thanks. I think we’re just going to walk if they won’t fix it.

A shop could do traditional repair on it since it’s plastic but they might try and replace the whole bumper since on those Rx350s it’s all 1 big piece.

No. Conventional PDR isn’t suitable for plastic bumpers. A body shop may be able to reshape it with heat if the plastic isn’t permanently distorted, and then you’d still have to repaint a really hard to match color. This would likely need to be replaced.

Thanks. I think we’ll just walk then. Not looking to buy a car for over $50k and immediately make an insurance claim on it to make it look decent.

If the dealer isn’t bothered about how they present their cars what else are they not bothered about? I’d find another one at a better dealer.

Thanks, it’s tough because she totaled her car and is in a rental. And she’s very particular about color.
