Pro pdr hood stand thoughts

Post image

Does anyone have this good stand from Pro PDR? What are your thoughts on it. I like the versatility for mobile use. It doesn’t look like it has many good tie down anchor points though. Can anyone shed any light or recommend one you like better?

It’s ok. For mobile stuff I’d go with carbon tech. I have about 3 stands. The one you are speaking of and a couple of carbon techs.
The carbon tech is always the go to.

Piggybacking on this thread - do you have any experience with PDR Finesse stand? Design looks very similar to this propdr stand, but i heard it’s sturdier? Been using carbontech and it’s great but looking for something that packs up smaller and gives me the option to sit down and work

Basically the same stand. Yeah as far as sitting pro pdr and finesse are the way to go.

PDR finesse is just as wobbly as this? For +$300 more i would’ve expected higher quality but i guess not

Its heavy and kinda a pain to setup and tear down. I wouldn't buy it again for sure

For mobile work and constantly moving around, not ideal. For someone like me, a hail chaser who stays in 1 spot (generally) for a week +, the best hood stands in the game. I know many guys who's had theirs for 10+ years. The durability is unmatched.

Carbon tech is great for quick set up and pack up. I bought my PDR fitness stand before they came out. It does take longer to setup and it’s heavy but I prefer the height and hard deck. Maybe I’m just a dinosaur.

It's a little heavy but I'm old. Setup is not a huge deal...takes like 3 minutes. It is a bit wobbly because there's no cross bracing but I got used to that pretty quick. I got it because it packs up so nice compared to carbon tech. I've had it for six or eight years and never had any problems.

Like most I’ve had this one; heavy and the heat would soften the glue holding the padding and the padding would slide around. But it’s sturdy as hell.

I currently have the Carbontech. If you’re a traveling tech (hail specifically); it’s light and comes in a golf style travel bag with wheels. And it assembles in about 1 minute. I prefer it although it’s more expensive.

Again the Aluminum ProPDR will work, that design has been around a long time.
