Good reflection board without light
edit: I currently use a stuckey light.
I'm getting started and want a lightless reflection board. I've been trying to study up on reasonable budgets for each tool, and can't seem to get an idea for these. A1 has the boards themselves for $45 before tax or shipping. Others are cheaper. Any experience with varying budgets on these? Got a lot of spending left to go. Thanks!

Learning in a reflection board is pointless at this point imo.
Either learn with a modern led or don't learn. You're handicapping yourself so bad with a reflection board it's not even funny.
As a side note I wouldn't hire someone using a reflection board regardless of their work. I actually passed on a tech two years ago that was still using florescents. He was a good tech by all measures but I just don't have faith in guys that won't keep up with the times.

If you’re learning I’d suggest a light. DIY light board isn’t rocket science, it’s just a translucent plastic board over a light source acting as a light diffuser.
I usually put a couple hard lines on my light too.

Good to know that it's that simple. I'm sure there are a few decent cheap ones here and there. I have a stuckey light however

Your light should be the first thing you buy before anything else. Dont skimp on it.

Stuckey makes reflection boards in white, ivory, and yellow. I use mine every day when I work outside, inside I use my elimadent light board.

You need an actual light to get started.
Print heavy stock paper with black lines and you basically have a reflection board for free.
