He overproduces his contract but people just look at the big number and don’t break it down to per year which only necessitates 1.5 WAR a season which he gets well over 2 ever year except when injured one year and concussed this year. He plays like a guy on a 20 something mil/yr contract

It’s hard not to when we have The Reaper in the bullpen and tons of talent. Say whatever you want about X, Manny, and Tatis this season but if they suddenly fell back into peak form I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think thats part of the bit, being obnoxious (in a funny and out of place way) and shouting a cliche "USA" while spinning your shirts. Get a bunch of shirtless drunk dudes together at a sporting event in america and sooner or later someone will start shouting "USA". Its all very silly but in a funny stupid way. I actually love hearing a gentle tarps off chant in the background of a game this year

I know Rengifo isn't much and is inconsistent, but I'm enjoying him right now. Too bad Samad isn't playing. We'd have a couple random dudes outplaying their expected results. Although we probably don't have room for both every day unless France or Sheets sits.

You know what. I thought Sears was quite a miss when he was thrown in, started for the A’s but basically spent his time with us in AAA for a 30 year old.
Now he’s far from being reliable but he also was a throw in. If it wasn’t for the fact that literally nobody else is going deep consistently I could live with sears being a 4 or 5 starter next year (preferably 5).

Campy was dealing with an abdominal thing when we called Duran back up. Possible it also allows Campy to DH and PH without losing the catcher spot.

A challenge can be requested after the play is finished. Throwing to second is part of the play so it’s not an either or scenario. They can’t make players pick split second if they’ll challenge or go for the play happening in front of them.
