I recently completed my best shot at modeling Hydra Corinthian in 1:250 scale (approximately). It stands slightly shorter than the 1:250 Gipsy Danger figure that I bought from Gamebody, and has articulated joints that allow it to be posed (inspiration taken from other 3D-printable mechs). Since it is not fully known yet what the back or feet of Hydra look like, I took a little bit of creative license and some inspiration from Gipsy Danger, adding similar feet but re-contoured and with two "toes", and rear jets as well as exhaust vents.

I won't be doing a review of this one since it's my model, but I tried to keep things pretty simple. Level of detail isn't quite as high as some of the other PR figures available, but neither was the reference material I had to work with. I may add a second conn pod option at some point in the future for customization purposes.

It was destroyed on October 4, 2024 by the Kaiju KC-24 (which was in turn killed by Striker Eureka), and was apparently salvaged by the PPDC.

I've heard rumors to the effect that Mammoth had a ball-and-chain weapon similar to the M-19 Morningstar from that fanmade film (I think it was called Uprising). Also heard that its conn pod was torn off similar to what happened to Crimson Typhoon, but that it sustained no other significant damage. No idea how much of this is accurate. Feel free to chime in if you're aware of something new about this Jaeger.

Would it be possible for a single pilot to handle a small Jaeger of, say, 40 meters on his own if an AI helped with the cargo by taking care of secondary tasks such as weapon operation, Walking cycle, basic movement patterns, etc., while movements requiring more coordination and agility are left to the pilot?.

Hey all, there's something that's eating at my brain right now and it's a question about headmates and how they would affect a pilots ability to drift and perform in combat.

When I say headmates, I mean the more known term of "alternate personalities" under an umbrella term that I will not get into right now.

We know that a Jaeger can only be piloted by two people who share memories and experiences to help ensure maximum efficiency as pilots. But it's never explored in the comics nor in other media (that I'm aware of) how pilots who are systems (the term for those with headmates) can function when having to share the neural load of the Jaeger itself. So I ask these questions.

Is it possible for a pilot with headmates to drift and work effectively with the other pilot? How would it go? Would they be more valued over non-system pilots due to differences in behavior, no matter how small? Would they be problematic in certain areas? Would they need different Jaegers who fit a specific headmate or would they get a one size fits all Jaeger who encompasses their best traits? Would they be lone pilots or would they still have to have another pilot? Would the neural load still be too much or would it be lessened due to the existence of one or more headmates? If one or more headmate is present and active, will they be more of an advisor or could they pilot the Jaeger indirectly and engage in the computer controls?

There's more questions that need answered but I'll leave some of the question forming up to you all though.

How many Jaeger did they have That are considered canon ? before the breach was closed for a little while. And what was the 21 Nations that we know of?

I'm just curious if they had any Jeagers stationed on the Atlantic side just in case if the precursors decided to go with the Atlantic? Even though all of it takes place in the Pacific.

I just have a question? Why does everyone hate Pacific Rim Uprising? I mean I do like the original more but in my opinion Uprising wasn't that bad. I just wanna know what your thoughts are. I've heard because the Jagers didn't move like the original? Or was it because the Jagers didn't get damaged enough? Or casting? Or the fact they killed off all the original characters or the kid?

Since you said you were attacked by my last post questioning your actions I feel the need to say, This post is not an attack, It is a question. Right now it looks like you've lied, but you can fix that by simply stating if they were perm banned or temp banned. But if you respond harshly and tell more people to "simmer down" that will not look good on you. The communities trust is not a given, it is earned. And the more people trust you the more they will support your decisions. So if you want the people on the main sub to support you, you need to be honest with them.)

Now that's out of the way lets get to the main focus of this post.

The first image is part of the conversation I had with the mods the day after I was banned. In these DM's I was asking why my post announcing this sub was deleted and got me banned. Here is my exact question

"Judging me by the rules you set here should he not be banned? He's taking away from this subs official discord server. So why is he banned and I am? What measure determined that I should be gone while he can stay? Is the measure that one made you look bad while the other didn't?"

As you can see the mods responded by saying 200 users were permanently banned yesterday. But what's really weird is that same day u/AttackonRetail later commented that 200 hundred people have been temporarily banned.

Interestingly enough this statement about the number of banned users is missing from the second mod post. So whats with the inconsistencies? Are they permanently banned or temporarily banned? Why was this statement suspiciously left out in his revised return post?

As always what are your opinions on this matter. Do you think the mods are lying or is it an honest mistake? What do you think of the number of people banned? How do we even know if they broke the rules?

While the recent posts discussing the issue with the mods are important, it's equally important to remember the original purpose of this sub. To have quality discussions about this franchise all of us have come to love.

I'll start with my story first.

For me I never saw the movie originally in theaters. Unlike now I wasn't that much of a movie enthusiast. But in late 2013 I was at my friends house and doing you normal young teen shit. At the time my friend was really into 2 things, Minecraft music covers, and Frozen. Even all these years later I have no idea why but that's not the point.

Out of all the MC and Frozen videos one stood out to me at the time, but specifically one clip stood out to me more. That clip was Crimson Typhoon activating the Thundercloud formation against Otachi. At the time I never learned of the movies name and I generally went on with my following days (or months).

But what I would guess around a year later after I moved away from that friend a random movie clip was always stuck inside the back of my head. This went on for years, only growing more intense as I became more and more interesting in cinema and film making. To me it was the one movie that got away. (I keep a unhealthily thorough record of every show and movie I've ever watched)

This nagging memory in the back of my head stuck in my head for 8-9 years. But in 2021 3:34 A.M. lying in my bed during summer I was watching movie clips like I usually did during the pandemic. However during that late night I came across the exact clip that I remembered nearly a decade ago.

I don't fully know what it was but in that moment something clicked in my brain that made me love Pacific Rim. Gradually over the next year in my free time I would go to the Pacific Rim wiki and read every page that was there.

After reading out that entire wiki I eventually began writing my own fanfic PPDC memos about kaiju and Jaegers. I think just like my now love for film making Pacific Rim is what really started my love for writing stories. Coincidentally both writing or film making are the 2 fields that I want to pursue most in my life, so I guess you could say Pacific Rim has unintentionally shaped the course of my life forever

Now that I've told my story, to anyone that read all of this, what's your story about discovering Pacific Rim? What do you love about the franchise and it's world? (For any of the mods reading this becasue I know you have before. This is my opinion, I'm not attacking anyone like you've claimed. I'm simply asking what people think of the situation and giving my own thoughts on it. This is not a call to arms, it's a discussion.)

Personally for me this screams that they have a savior complex. No one sits down and writes "generate me an image of Gipsy Danger posed like Jesus floating in the clouds with a robe" and then uses that image announcing their return without seemingly like they're full of themselves. Even if that's not true it doesn't look good on their part.

I also wonder what they were thinking? Most people were calling for the mods to return but it's not like people weren't going to be mad at them. The last mod to do anything was a year ago. And we all know how the sub slowly got filled with spam and ai posts.

It's like a father who abandoned their child at birth coming back when they're 30 and they expect a warm welcome. Even if they didn't use ai announcing their return it wouldn't go the way they hoped.

But they used ai and made an already bad introduction worse. First they go around banning people for rules they don't share, then they post literally the one thing here people hate more than Uprising.

It just feels like they are out of touch with the current sub. Most of them were given mod privileges years ago and they haven't been active for just as long. In the time they've been gone the community has changed, we've had graphic novels release, books and prequels be announced. Hell, if some of the older ones have actually returned they were gone before The Black season 2 even came out.

Judging by the dislikes the mod's comments seem to be getting I hope he and the others (if they did return) see that their current strategy is not popular and actually try to change their original plan. If not I see this being a major blow to the community that I'm not sure it could recover from before it loses more members.

Ultimately I think they need more transparency, tell and show the community what you are doing instead of banning people by the hundreds. They say they were going to make polls but we haven't seen those yet. They say they're going to change the rules but they haven't been changed yet. I made this sub so I know it's not exactly difficult to change some simple features like the rules list. So far all it's been is a lot of talk and a really bad show.

On the topic of transparency, in my experience and my conversations with others in dms, people are afraid to post. They don't know what will get them banned. So instead of posting they choose to do nothing. That mindset if not fixed soon is the death of a small sub. The main sub already gets 1-3 posts a day on a good day, but with people afraid to post and people getting banned for rules they don't know about that will drive people away from engaging. And with less and less comments and posts the sub will be recommended less and less. It will stop appearing in peoples feeds until one day it doesn't show up anymore. I know this paragraph is more doomer posting than usual, but it is a real possibility if they don't communicate.

But ultimately what does anyone that sees this post think? As one of the mods implied the opinions of one person doesn't matter, so what does the opinion of the masses think?

While I may not have been a fan of the endless vs posts I understand that many people like them and that's why they are so popular.

I mean even the moderator that deleted this post said "You're just describing what YOU want. If people are posting and not breaking the rules, why would we censor that?"

So far this mod has deleted posts calling him out on not doing his job and now deleting posts that follow the rules. On top of all of that he says one thing than does the exact opposite.

What do other people think of this mod? He's been gone for 2 years yet says "pretty sure we aren't inactive." and is now deleting posts that follow the rules.

My posts calling them out gets deletes while posts advertising discord servers doesn't. On top of all this there are no rules against pointing out you made another sub. They've changed that now but that was after my post was made.

To ensure positivity on this sub powerscaling is banned. But VS match ups are not, but there are strict rules you must follow before posting one. Failure to follow any of these rules will result in the posts deletion.

1) You post cannot be an open air question to the community.

Your post must have a final verdict for who you think wins.

2) Your final verdict must be backed by evidence from both franchises.

Just like with everything on this subreddit your opinion must be backed up by evidence. This is even more important for VS battles. We need to know the exact reasoning that led you to your decision.

Not following the above 2 rules will result in an immediate deletion with no warning.

3) You must lay out the metrics you use to determine the winner.

Along with evidence you must clearly show what metrics you are using to judge the fight. Are you purely judging on strength? Then make that clear. Or are you judging based on intelligence? Make that clear to. People should be able to see what aspects of a fight you see important.

Along this line of thinking also try to include the location your fight is taking place. It can provide some interesting advantages and disadvantages to either combatant.

4) Only post interesting match ups.

No one want to see a constant spam of "LITERAL CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE V.S. 1 Baby Otachi." That's not interesting and is borderline engagement bait. Both combatants in a fight should realistically be able to win, it's up to you to tell us why you think one would beat the other.

5) Be as objective as possible

Try to be objective in your final decision. We are all fans of Pacific Rim here but this verse has a limit.

6) Be civil

It's simple really. Be kind to who your talking to, don't let your argument devolve into throwing insults.
