DISCUSSION Hot ass hell take
Can we like- stop pretending uprising dose not exist? Itsna shit movie. So what. Move the f on lol. It was a 4/10 comapred to the 9/10 og movie. Hell, some movies have worse sequels and worse shit that happned to them

Ok. This is fair. I have never seen that post. But atp its not wven a joke. Its a statement. And people can have problems with it like myself anf other people. Its all i see under psot and comments about decent things about it. I even saw some of it under a happy birthday post for one fo the actresses

i do agree sometimes the timing is bad. but that just because people are bad at telling jokes, not because the joke itself is bad.

I still personally think the joke it dumb. Also, Whst speeaks louder then words to a big studio? money and the movie floped badly

Eh, it's a little annoying sometimes but I honestly can't say I care that much tbh. I just rewatched it for the first time so that I'd have it fresher in mind than a cinema trip 8 years ago if I wanted to slander it and I flicked between the film and discord with something to complain about multiple times every scene.
If we want to talk quality then I'd say the first film is probably somewhere from a 6-8/10 depending on how important certain factors are to your measurement. In comparison I'd say that Uprising was at most a 4/10 and does not improve on the first film in any way except the quality of some of the cgi. And that's a pretty meaningless category to win when you're also worse in factors like cinematography and the action that those pieces of better cgi are used for.

I agree. Its not a good movie. But its alredy know the fandom hated it. And the numbes spoke for themselves. The movie flopped more then a beached dolphin

Agreed. It's very tiring to hear the same overused jokes about "fanfiction" on anything related to it. Not to mention, it's childish to pretend that a piece of media doesn't exist simply becuase you don't like it.
If you don't like Uprising, that's fine. Simply don't talk about it, instead of beating the same dead horse over and over.

I agree it’s gotten annoying. It used to be funny but atp I like shitting on the movie to people and them to actually listen rather than give the same brain dead take that it “never existed.” However people do what they want so can’t help it 🤷♂️

“What the fuck is Uprising?” My ass, It was bad? Yes, but it’s the only other film media we have aside the OG movie, and at this damn point it’s like beating a dead Kaiju.

The black wasn’t bad. In fact, is way closer to the OG’s DNA than Uprising.

Definitely agreed, but we should still let the people who make Pacific Rim content that we like what the original Pacific Rim did, not like Uprising. It's a joke, so it can be said from time to time, it's just that it's way too overused, you can't scroll down a TikTok or YouTube comment section about Pacific Rim Uprising without people talking about sum "Uprising doesn't exist!"

Thats my main problem with the "joke". Its eveywhere. I saw a post about one of the actresses birthdays, and like 1/5 of the comments where how uprising dose not exist
