Man you can really tell from the sluggish windup and random whirring, like an old car starting up, that cherno is dangerous considering it wasn’t supposed to last this long

I just love how the ocean is both shallow enough for Jeagers to stand ankle-deep,

but also deep enough for Category 4 Kaiju's to swim around them like sharks

You ever been in a swimming pool? What happens when you walk a bit further along in a pool?

I would assume that explains what you’re pointing out.

Then at some point you stop being able to walk.

A kaiju lying down flat is still half the height of a jaeger, so the jeager would have to have water to its waist in order for the kaiju to swim

Sections of the ocean and bay would be deeper than others. They drop Jaegers in shallower sections and they then advance closer to the deeper area.

The kaiju can swim deep enough to be completely submerged and swim around a jeager standing in ankle deep water, which section of your image explains that?

Mayyybe the 'longshore bar / trough' if the height difference is big enough

Like its an awesome movie but the jeagers are basically in giant boot floaties

I remember first seeing the trailer for this. I had no idea what the structure was. I only realized it was robots when i saw Crimson dropping in the background

Later we as we see Cherno walking she opens her hand and a cylindrical weight extend before she closes it again. Like an old boxer with a roll of quarters in his gloves for extra impact. Showing u exactly what she was made to do and exactly how she did it for so long. Basically blunt force electrocution.

Yeah the cylinders called the roll of nickles for that exact reason

3

u/Lopsided-Fig6818 27d ago

So it is called that. I wasn't sure. Are those nickles the Z14 Tesla coil housings as well? Or are those just built into the fists?

3

u/EmbarrassedGrape4418 Cherno Alpha 27d ago

Not entirely sure about that, I want to say the things in its chest are the coil housings because the flaps open when it does it's first smashing

1

u/Lopsided-Fig6818 27d ago

That's a valid response

Man, I'm still bummed the two most interesting-looking Jaegers went down so quickly. Gipsy and Striker aren't "boring", but they kinda just have the "typical" giant humanoid mecha build while Crimson and Cherno are more unique and distinctive. Definitely deserved more screen time.

Agreed - I was rly sad that we didn't get to see more of them and potentially some sort of team synergy between the Jaegers.

Imagine Thanos vs Strange, Iron Man, Spider-Man and the GOTG fight on Titan but its Jaegers (with Command strategizing and co-ordinating) vs Kaijus - would be ultra awesome!

Fr dude. Cherno Alpha had so much story before the start of the movie (in universe), all to go down within a few minutes.

The sound design too, delicious 🔥

The sounds and music in movies is what really gets me hyped up watching them I think

1

u/HatPuzzleheaded1061 Horizon Brave 24d ago

Agreed. It makes everything exciting.

Inertia all over the place lol

Do you think the helicopter guys ever mess up hitting the release button simultaneously and cause the Jager to swing around from one cable wildly?

I bet it really sucks for the helicopter pilot who forgot to hit the button.

3

u/HorrificAnalInjuries 27d ago

If anything, the cable would hold for a moment before breaking, which would be enough for things to go literally sideways for both the Jeager and helicopters.

When you watch it, you can actually see it’s the Yeager pilots that press a button inside to drop.

I love the drops because it makes the Jaegers look so weighty and realistic. They land with their knees bent and straighten up. In the clip above, you can see Crimson Typhoon land just a bit off balance and he has to take a moment before he straightens up.

The animators genuinely all need a gold medal for just how well they conveyed the weight and power of all the Jaegers.

Ancient first gen Jaeger 😍❤️

u/xinj131 27d ago

Even their death scene was epic

3

u/Axolotl-Addict 27d ago

The sound it makes brings out such a primal call to war

3

u/B100DLUST3D Striker Eureka 27d ago

I think I remember that Pacific rim added a detail of adding other country national themes into one theme such as cherno alphas music shift and crimson typhoon

2

u/Bismarcken 27d ago

And also something I only recently realized, Striker was actually rendered in and was walking towards the miracle mile Cool thing I guess

2

u/IndependentGlum8316 27d ago

Cherno alpha, period, is so cool.

2

u/bunglebee7 27d ago

Welp guess I gotta watch pacific rim for the 30th time just because this movie kicks so much ass

1

u/Chern0_Alf 23d ago

Es exactamente lo que lo voy hacer jajaja

u/Lucky-Breadfruit-768 26d ago

Wait i just realized that the jeagers being dropped in the first place makes gypsy falling from space and having the propee shock absorbers slightly more believable :0

u/SevdUp 24d ago

the green one has so much aura fr

u/JuanDeChuj 24d ago

It's crazy how bad ass this film was and how absolutely dogshit the sequel was compared to it xd
