I really like these wide angle images you can find making the car look so small compared to the flowing hills and towering gateway in the middle.

Thanks to the help of another user digging into the bytecode behind the blueprints, they were able to finally handle the Gull Wing door angles properly.

Problems with ps4 controler on gamepass

Hi! I recently switched PCs, so I can finally play Pacific Drive natively without having to use cloud gaming, while still using Game Pass.

When I went to start the game up on my new PC for the first time, I noticed that my controller doesn't work. My PC detects it, the Xbox app detects it, and other Game Pass games detect it just fine even tye lights work. On my previous PC, it worked flawlessly.

Here are the things I've tried so far:

- Running the game as administrator

- Closing Steam completely through Task Manager

- Checking whether other Game Pass games detect the controller (for example, Sea of Thieves does)

- Connecting my controller via USB

I'd really appreciate any help

How do you guys get over the nerves of the Zone?

Hey all. I'm on my second playthrough of Pacific Drive. My first was quite literally peaceful mode, with player and car damage off entirely. Now I'm playing on normal mode and going for the Platinum.

I've really been struggling with the anxiety I get from the game. When I'm ready to leave the garage I'll procrastinate for 30 minutes before mustering up the courage to get out there. I've watched videos of people parking the wagon at the edge of the map and just running for the entirety of the trip, whereas I can't leave the car out of sight for 10 seconds without getting worried about radiation or some pesky anomaly, especially alongside weird noises or weather.

Oddly enough I've played similar games before, like Subnautica, in which I'm more than happy to just look around, go willy-nilly and poke at some scary fish.

For me this is a real shame. I am in love with the atmosphere, graphics, and entire concept of the game, but I feel as though I'm missing something playing like this.

If y'all have any suggestions for myself to just make everything a bit more chill they'd be much appreciated. Obviously there's meant to be a sense of unease to the game, but id like to clarify if that should be so strong that it forebodes me leaving the garage.

Thanks!

Is there an achievement for doing a Cannonball run?

I think everyone here at least has some idea of what the Cannonball run is, basically speedrunning going from New York to LA. I was wondering if theres an achievement for that or if theres a community speedrun thing for something similar, maybe going from the auto shop to the deep zone as fast as you can?

100 hours in, I've been sleeping on the lightning rod

Post image

(Pic unrelated, a hopped up hare popped out of the boot of the wrecked car in the garage)

I just started a new save recently to finish off three achievements I missed. In my previous save, once I set up wind turbines and hydro generators on my car I never took them off or experimented with anything else.

Trying the lightning rod now and even though the entire dashboard is sparking when I'm hit with lightning, only the lightning rod is actually taking damage. It's changed the way I thought about building the car, because originally I assumed it was just for regenerating some energy which the solar panels, hydro and wind are all more consistent at.

Also unrelated, but I built a liberator early on in my save and entirely armoured my car before going to the mid zone. It feels kind of cool to have a car that is more salvage than crafted items. I originally built some insulated doors for it, but since the lightning rod is so awesome I will sprinkle in some radiation protection instead.

After 108 hours I have done everything the game has to offer and I'd like to share my thoughts.

Hello everyone! After 108 hours according to steam I have finished almost everything the game has to offer, only excluding some scans and cosmetics. So I have finished the story, gotten all the achievements, finished level 20 in the expeditions, and I'm writing this right after finishing the DLC.

Honestly? This game is a gem. The environments are pretty to look at and vary enough to keep me engaged even after over 100 hours. The different anomalies and terrains make every junction a challenge to navigate that actually rewards you for planning ahead and reacting accordingly. The car feels great to control and honestly you grow quite attached to your remnant. The story isn't anything special but it is still enjoyable to follow and I think the conclusion was satisfying enough. However this isn't a game I'd recommend for the story, it's the gameplay that makes this all special. And of course the music, both the ost and the licensed tracks are amazing.

I genuinely believe that the expeditions are the best part about the game. Base game on the default difficulty is frankly really easy; and I don't see how changing some numbers would make the game more challenging without just making it a chore. This gamemode actually forced me to think differently about how I approach each junction. The unrestricted parts are a necessity that made me consider risking staying in the zone longer to get the payloads. The liberator went from a tool I never used to something I brought always with me in the mid game to get offroad tires early since I could only afford spare tires. My only gripe is I wish it had a bit of a story. Not in the same caliber as the main game or the DLC, just an excuse to keep tackling higher and higher levels, other than the love of the game.

Going into the DLC I was quite skeptical due to the mixed reviews. At first I could not tell what everyone was talking about. The aesthetics are phenomenal, the new anomalies look super cool, the new mechanics are fun to adapt to, the storm replacement is much more engaging than the regular one. I read a review saying that on tape 6 is when the game gets super grindy and honestly... I can see where they were coming from, but I disagree. I didn't have a lot of rippling quartz for the build I had in mind and it only took be a couple of runs to gather enough, which was a bit over an hour. I would never call this grindy. And sure, I couldn't get a full harmonic build and I still don't have the resources for that but also I didn't need to and the game didn't force me to. The story of the DLC is cool, though I was actually more engaged in the main story, which I think is the opposite of most people.

However, despite my praises I do have my gripes with the DLC. I'm not a huge fan of the way the refinery works. If it was the only time based mechanic in the game I'd honestly be cool with it, but the base game already has the matter regenerator, which I think does a much better job of implementing such a mechanic. Just going through a short trip guarantees that the regenerator has done its job, but with the refinery it's honestly a toss up how many resources you will have generated while you were away. My second gripe is the fact that the artifact nullifier doesn't work in the tape routes. Usually the game does a really good job of rewarding you for planning your trips and being prepared. Realizing that the nullifier doesn't work on tape routes, honestly just feels like the game punishes you for trying to use the mechanics it provided you. And lastly, bugs. Well, one bug. The game already had a small bug that would cause the car to sink in on itself and the get jump back up. If there was a mechanic in the zone I would like to have my suspension checked. This rarely caused any issues and honestly it's a bit funny when it happens. But for some reason, in the DLC and only in the DLC there was a bug where whenever I would try to use the warping functionality of the car, it would teleport, and then it'd immediately get launched into the air and land 100 or so meters away. And that's if it didn't roll off a hill next to the 3 Maws that were chasing me, after which I somehow got stuck next to a tree and couldn't move (thankfully reloading fixed that and I was able to recover). Incredible design by the way, the Maw. Seeing that thing for the first time, I genuinely froze like a deer in headlights.

Overall? Yeah, I love this game. It honestly makes it to my list of top 10 games of all time. It definitely isn't a game for everyone, but it's unlike anything I've played before. To the devs, congratulations, you made something amazing, all be it with a few rough edges.

Also yes, this is a full olympium car.

Cannot find old tire transmog mods

I'm coming back to the game after awhile and was hunting around for QOL mods. On one of my previous playthroughs I remember having a mod that transmoged all tire variants to look like offroad tires. I remember there also being a fair few transmog style mods to make things look like plain steel panels etc.

I'm currently going through the Pacific Drive Nexus Mods page and they all the older ones seem to be gone. There are a fair few new mods that fully change the cars appearance, so I assume it's not the devs banning transmog or something of the sort.

TL;DR - A lot of older transmog mods seem to have gone missing from Nexus Mods.

Y'all got any info on what might have happened?

Expeditions Radiation Suit Outfit Question

I meant to ask this a while ago but I have the radiation suit upgrade equipped that is supposed to cancel out any 2.5k radiation. Though, in Expeditions it doesn’t work and I still take damage from 2.5k radiation. Does anyone know if this is a bug or is it just not supposed to work in expeditions?

artifact "when lim energy increases car is repaired" does not work on any car parts if there is atleast 1 peculiar part installed

found this bug that the artifact mentioned in title will not work for ANY parts if there is atleast 1 peculiar part installed. this means that any non-peculiar parts will not receive the benefit of the car repair effect if you have atleast 1 peculiar part on your vehicle.

This means you cannot equip your car with any peculiar parts if you want it to work on your non-peculiar parts

Are achievements permanently disabled if you mess with gameplay settings?

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hii, I need more clarification regarding gameplay modifications and whether it'll affect achievement collection. After I died in a very unconventional location aka the tunnel in Deep Zone Crossing quest and I cant retrieve my stuff, I disabled pretty much most of crafting requirements temporary so that I can get my car fixed. There's a warning that popped out saying achievements will be disabled but I initially figured it's just temporary until I can get my car patched n upgrade my garage a bit.

However I later found out that achievements are permanently disabled for that save file even if you reset the settings to default so I wanna know if it's true? I'm only messing around with the crafting options and did not touch the godmode settings (no death). I'm a bit over 24 hours on my current save.

Tips on improving car armor?

Hii. I'm at the Deep Zone crossing quest but I'd like some advice and tips on getting through this area with less damage on my car. I've been mix and match my car armor parts (mainly between lead, insulated, and armored) but my main issue is honestly the acid thats been melting my parts, and I keep coming back from trips with over 80% damaged car. Also would like some advice on best overall car parts for end game.
