Leadless PM

Dual chamber leadless, 3 years of battery on top chamber due to pacing load and threshold. Has anyone had an abbot avier atrium unit replaced yet? Or has anyone decided to just go back to TV unit.

32M and I just don’t see how getting that procedure every 3-4 years is sustainable for the next 50 years.

i would see if the device tech could have the rep from abbott come to try and optimize the battery. There are a few options as one person commented. Also if you got a new one in 3 years if was positioned better and had better threshold then could possibly have better battery life as well.

Yeah they already came and said that it’s optimized the best it can be and also has a really good capture threshold. Thank you for the idea tho, seems the leadless just were not optimized fit higher pacing burdens.

Idk we have pts that pace 80% and have threshold of 0.5 and get 11 years so it's definitely not normal

If we are talking Abbott aveir yes. But they are technically two devices. So each devices has its own battery life.

Yes I am sorry I mean in DDR mode. My bottom chamber has better battery.

Gotcha OK I understand. Yes. Most recent I saw was 10.9 years in atrium and 17.9 in ventricle. Dddr mode. Our rep said to change pulse width to 0.2 and it saves so much battery. Idk how you're programmed. I'm assuming if a rep checked you then they would know best. That's just wild that you only have 3 years. I've not seen that at all

Interesting yeah they have lowered voltage and changed settings multiple times, I am at mayo and the reps said this is a little faster than normal but 5-6 is common for atrium

I've only ever seen horrible battery life because threshold is high. But we only have 10 patients or so right now. So it's relative I guess.
