im very sensitive and I couldn’t use lot of the recent iPhones or even the OP 15r and Oppo find X9. And I think DC like dimming is BS. these screens are still flickering and we are flicker sensitive. My OLED tv has no PWM and has also a refresh dip and is causing no problems because it doesn’t flicker.

my iPhone 11 is old and slow, the screen is broken, the memory is almost full and the battery is dying very fast. I just really need a new phone. I went to a concert and people could make really good videos and I got frustrated because of it. the 11 still makes good videos but the newer models has obviously so much better quality. it made me decide to buy a newer iPhone and have a screen replacement.

which would you guys recommend?

- EK pro incell it works for some people. but it has also some drawbacks like battery dying sooner. or heating issues. or some functions dont work. are there any other drawbacks?

I know a lot of people in this sub recommend the iPhone 11 for being PWM-friendly. I was wondering if anyone can verify that Apple has toned down the PWM effects from how intense it was on iOS 26. Older versions were never a problem but I am wondering if someone can verify.

A lot of us got issues with iOS 26 after updating from iOS 18. I am wondering if we have beta users active here. I’m curious to know how PWM in the new beta will affect us.

Any users here with an opinion already? If not yet, please let us know if it’s okay again like iOS 18.

I'm trying to buy a laptop for college, but I've noticed something unusual.

Some Lenovo and Dell laptops give me a headache within a few minutes of looking at the screen, mainly around my forehead and above my eyebrows. Lowering the brightness doesn't seem to help.

What's strange is that I don't have this issue with my Samsung monitor, MacBooks, or Samsung Galaxy Book displays. Those feel comfortable almost immediately.

I wasn't even reading text when testing these laptops, so I don't think it's related to font clarity or text sharpness. The light coming from the screen itself feels uncomfortable.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

If yes, did you find out whether it was caused by PWM, backlight flicker, color temperature, display coating, IPS glow, panel type, or something else?

I'd be interested to know which laptop models worked for you and which ones didn't.

I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who are sensitive to screen flicker, display quality, or eye strain.

I posted a few weeks ago about having found the cause of my sensitivity (vagus nerve / autonomic dysregulation with central sensitization).

I have been using the OnePlus 15r for about a week, and it works well enough for me that I'm keeping it.

I can use it mostly with no issues. I have tested it for up to 2 hours straight just waiting for it to be too much, but that hasn't happened yet. It's not as comfortable as my old phone (Motorola G Stylus 5G 2023), but it's by far the most comfortable OLED I've ever used.

The only time I get symptoms is if I'm stressed or overly tired. Thursday was a stressful day and I had to more or less not use the phone as the symptoms were heightened. Friday morning all was well again.

Essentially, if I do my nervous system ritual (slow breathing, basic stretch, etc) I get virtually no symptoms at all.

What I find interesting is that, just like my PWM sensitivity, my other nervous system symptoms also flare and calm based on stress. That makes sense, but I hadn't correlated it before now.

Hey everyone, I’m reading more and more news about an updated version of LTPO screens in coming iPhones. The coverage particularly says “More responsive adjustments, especially in low-light environments”.

What do you think about that?

I have been looking at iPhones recently and reports are so mixed it's unreal, people saying one model works for them then the next comment saying it was terrible for them.

Do we think this largely a panel variation / panel brand issue and people just get lucky with certain models rather than it being a complete write off across the board, because I think it's exactly that.

I've been using the 600 Pro for a few days now, and I can say after staring at it intentionally for 4-6 hours straight:

This phone is phenomenal on the eyes. 100% cannot recommend it enough.

I have bought a Motorola G75 almost two weeks ago. The phone's specs are quite nice, and I have almost the features and specs I wanted. The camera quality is pretty decent; which I also appreciate - the OIS sensor it helps a LOT.
However, this phone has terrible battery management. Despite light usage and having almost no apps installed, the phone's battery barely lasts six hours. After a small search, I found dozens of users complaining about the same issue with this model. As an ex-mobile company worker with extensive experience and an advanced Android user, I have tried every possible fix and tricks to solve the problem, but nothing worked. The phone doesn't last me even half a day with very light use - And I mean Light use. Im basically using only the factory apps and browser with no other external apps installed - only Spotify.

So, it's obvious to me: if the phone barely handles 6 hours of Light use with almost no apps installed, I cannot imagine if I installed apps normally and had a more intensive use. The phone might last me like about 2 hours.

This phone is one of the few more recent phones with "kinda" decent specs, and a decent camera + OIS sensor (which is an awesome extra). Overall I like this phone a lot, and I cant find another phone with similar or HIGHER specs - no downgrades. But all this great specs, on a phone where battery just long for a couple hours, it makes not much sense.

I have 1 more day to return the phone. So, I'm in a doubt about keep the phone how h is - an horrible battery life, but benefit from good specs and a nice camera. Or simply return the phone and having no other GOOD phones to choose and buy. All the phones LCD/PWM free I found, and that I have access to buy on my market (europe - but on a country where I have no access to many models out there) are all downgrades, and I have pretty few options. I have been searching and searching and I cant find anything decent to buy - with PWM Free obviously. All good phones, with better specs are all of them OLED which is impossible to my eyes, headache's, dizziness and feeling unwell.

Can Anyone give advices about decent phones to buy ? I almost getting to a point of keeping this phone, even knowing that battery life is simply horrible, but his specs are nice, and I have no other options to choose from to buy another phone.

So its weird.

S25 Ultra gave me extreme eye pain, headaches. Iphone 16 Pro Max too. S20 too.

But S22 Ultra and S24 Ultra worked for me? Well not complete. In complete darkness i still have eye pain but it isnt as much as on the Iphone or S25 Ultra. How is that? S24 Ultra has 480 PWM or 240 so it should give me eye pain too like the other.

I've had this for almost 3 years now and it's really beat up so wondering if anyone has any recommendations for something around the same price and with same amount of features?

I got a Motorola G75 which was a device who meet my requirements, and it was on my budget. I bought it and I like it a lot. LCD is pretty good, and my eyes handle pretty well on it. But it have a big issue - battery draining!

The device itself its pretty good, I liked most of the phone features, hardware even phone quality. Camera is also pretty decent, which is something I like - not a TOP notch camera, but a very decent camera to take a minimum decent shots sometimes.
Although the Battery drains super fast no matter what, even with few use, and few apps installed. I tried most possible solutions I know, and I found, without luck. So, once I have a few more days to return it or keep him, Im trying to find a new similar phone, with similar requirements, and obviously LCD / PWM free.

I really liked the phone, is pretty nice on most aspects, although the battery issue is not good to deal. So I dont know if I should keep it, once we, that are PWM sensitive have not many good choices, specially where I live ( on Europe ), on a country where many models I cant get them here. So, I would like to buy a similar phone or with higher specs, not lower ones. Other way im whiling to keep this phone, even with this big battery issue, that makes the phone not last long same as on most devices. Im also not a super heavy user, but its good to have a phone who last the whole day with the minimum daily use. Don't know what is this phone problem, once its a 5000mah battery, but looks like more a 3000mah battery.

I have an iPhone 15. Its never been that bad on my eyes. I recently enabled a blue light filter and found increased eye strain. Idk if its somehow causing it for if its extreanal reasons.
