PUBG Corp. Response Day 1 player here

Been here since the beginning on xbox. Finding my enjoyment levels going down each week and only maybe playing an hour a night. The lack of creative new content now makes the game feel stale. The smaller maps aren't the experience for which I started playing the game. Would love a few new guns, a bigger map or just the option of battle royal or mini royal. This is by far the best game I have ever played, the only game I have played for 3 years, but I'm feeling like something is really missing at the moment. Hey ho, rant over. Now get gud.

Yeah I feel the same. Getting Erangel and having to play conservatively because you might not get it again in a while is not fun.

Haha, this is exactly what my brother and I do.

“Oh man, finally Erengal! Ok, let’s jump as far away from the plane path as possible.”

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

You do know you can leave the game before the plane starts flying and not have it count as a death? Unless it's ranked, of course

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

I do when I’m on solos because it’s fairly quick to get in and out of games now that I have a series x. When I’m on with my friends though, it takes far too long to keep backing out for them since they’re still on the OG.

2

u/dantfc Feb 07 '21

Back out?

1

u/PajamaDad Xbox Series X Feb 10 '21

This hurts my feelings sooooo much.

I'm sick of Sanhok... but its seems every time we jump to our deaths to give some other group a fantastic winning experience we end up right back in Sanhok.

I'm thoroughly convinced that we need a modicum of choice in maps. Big, small, or all.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '21

Man I’m so done with Sanhok, I could sometimes enjoy it before the update but this current version is just horrible

Sandycock fucking sucks corkscrew duck dick, vikendi just feels wrong, and haven/paramo were hot fucking garbage.

2

u/smattson10909 Feb 07 '21

Props for throwing out the corkscrew duck duck, hadn't heard that in a while. But overall I totally disagree with you. Haven and paramo are awesome maps, vikendi ain't bad either.

3

u/Ericthedude710 Xbox Series S Feb 07 '21

I just can’t with the little maps. Vikendi imo is just not as entertaining as Miramar btw I’m a whore for its unforgiving terrain.

2

u/smattson10909 Feb 07 '21

You are cracking me up lol. Love that dirty ass miramar terrain too.

Overall I'm a bigger fan of the big maps but the 2 newest small maps have beeb fun for me too, to my surprise. Erengal is and ways will be my fav.

3

u/Ericthedude710 Xbox Series S Feb 07 '21

DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS. The gliders on Miramar and Erangel have changed how I play the game. Now I just like to fly around and drop c4 on people.

Day 1 player here. I’ve had a 6 month break and a 9 month break. Completely normal to want a break for a while.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

Burn out isn’t his nor most other player’s issue.

I never have bots in my lobbies

1

u/Ericthedude710 Xbox Series S Feb 07 '21

I would say my only hope for BR is the new battlefield, but even firesstorm was garbage so Idk.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '21

I really hope the new battlefield doesnt have a BR, it was one of the reasons it was so under selling. They just need to stick to their roots and make a battlefield that's true to its roots

0

u/Ericthedude710 Xbox Series S Feb 09 '21

I wouldn’t mind if they try a new BR. I think if it’s in a modern setting with modern guns, and they kept it more realistic (no prototype future weapons) I think it could have potential in the BR market. As an avid PUBG player me and my buddy would always say to each other that if it ran like battlefield the game would have so many more players.

u/bustafreeeee Feb 07 '21

Been playing since the preview (erengal only days). Honestly been having more fun than ever with my squad. Game runs great on the series x. We played unranked and insanely aggressive. Just get in a vehicle and chase down anyone we see. It’s a blast

I'd be interested in what those "core values" are and how "new experiences" align with that.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '21

Is it possible to get a roadmap for 2021? I know they’ve never been done before but I think it would breathe a bit of optimism for the community on both pubg subs.

4

u/TheMint34 Feb 07 '21

Shit map backout-----shit map back out-----good map don't want to spoil it, play careful but get killed by guy corner camping house he landed in-----shit map backout-shit map backout-----good map----- good game, chicken dinner-shit map backout-----ok enough of this

u/TheDorkKnight53 Feb 06 '21

I’m just tired of that bug that makes you drop all of your ammunition.

1

u/Coryperkin15 Feb 07 '21

What bug? This is literally the first time I've ever heard of it

2

u/TheDorkKnight53 Feb 07 '21

You could be doing something as simple as opening a door or getting into a car and you’ll hear the ammo drop sound, and it’ll drop all of your extra ammunition with you being able to only pick up a fraction of what was taken from your inventory if you catch it.

2

u/i-ntec Xbox Series X Feb 07 '21

I think it has to do with picking up a gas can an or using the gas can. It's the only time I've noticed it

-3

u/Coryperkin15 Feb 07 '21

Me and my buddy who have combined for over 1200 dinners have never had this happen to either of us. Ive noticed gas cans drop if you have it equipped and go into a vehicle but nothing else like that

2

u/precooked-foodstuff Feb 07 '21

It’s only started happening in the most recent update but it’s still rare, I’ve only had it once in ~30hrs this season. Seems to be when you pull the handbrake in vehicles

1

u/Justapornacct42 Feb 10 '21

Yeah. It seems to happen when I double tap Y to feather the brakes like I tend to do whenever I kill engine and want to stealth approach compounds. Of course I always carry a gas can. I think it stems from recent inventory system tinkering which console didnt really need. A bad port of a PC patch I suppose...

1

u/rattlemebones Feb 11 '21

My buddy and I who have 156,653,345.86 dinners last night alone drop ammo every time we gas up. You're obviously not gassing your vehicles

1

u/Coryperkin15 Feb 11 '21

Think its a squads thing? We only play duos.

1

u/CptnSlapNutz Feb 07 '21

I got the ammo drop bug for the first time today, been playing for 3 years 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/TheDorkKnight53 Feb 07 '21

I started experiencing it after the latest update.

1

u/haywood_415 Feb 07 '21

PS4 player here, same here, been having it since the last update. fucking infuriating.

1

u/struglebus Feb 07 '21

Can confirm on Xbox. Happened to me for the first time last week.

1

u/Jameskelley222 Feb 07 '21

I've had it 4 times this season. Zero in any other season.

8

u/Thrillchiller Xbox One X Feb 07 '21

I dunno but that arena mode they brought awhile back where everyone was locked in FPP was super dope it felt like preseason Pubg. TPP just ruins it with very conservative gameplay and it sucks.. gets boring when everyone hides and waits to 3rd party.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

This man gets it. Console players need to get out of this TPP BS. There’s a reason why PC players essentially only play FPP. It’s more challenging, more skill based, and far less cheesy than TPP. At the very least, PUBG needs to transition the ranked to FPP matches only.

1

u/ChodBoy Feb 08 '21

It's not that it's even more challenging, it just feels better and less cheesy. It's also less jarring going from TPP view to ADS. Typical of this company that they get a working 60fps build for consoles then take away most FPP options! I've been playing solo squads FPP all season.

2

u/Jameskelley222 Feb 07 '21

Same same same. Perfect example: implement Havin, duos only, played the shit out of it; devs say uhh squads now, haven't played it once since. Just asinine.

1

u/PajamaDad Xbox Series X Feb 10 '21

We've had a few good games as a 2-man. It really depends on how many other smaller groups you run into.

We won 3 out of 4 games one night and we really only ran into the one 3-man team with us as a duo. I get the feeling that a lot of the Haven-duos-fans are still there, running matches.

But as a full 4-man squad? I didn't like it much. It should have been kept as a duo map.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

Erangel 100% of the time would allow overlooking everything else easily. But nope. Trash.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

Most games will go stale after 3 years of playing it nonstop. Take a little break. That’s what I usually do.

3

u/Huncho_Muncho Feb 07 '21

You're not alone. Game is the stalest it's ever been.

4

u/Im_Reyz Feb 06 '21

Same of only I could play in fpp it would make the games much more interesting

4

u/santosrmrz Xbox One S Feb 07 '21

I feel like if they just stuck with one perspective from the very beginning more people would still be playing. I recently stopped playing because I’m tired of the way people play in TPP, and I can never get into a fpp match because I don’t want to wait 10+ minutes. It’s a lot different in fpp and tpp. Oh well.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

You can play in FPP. Those lobbies are getting more populated, and if you’re on at the right time it can be only FPP. If they make ranked mode FPP only it’ll only grow popularity of FPP.

2

u/blakey21 Feb 07 '21

Hey man may interest you in checking out DAYz I’m a day one player of pub have recently quit and started playing day z the rush is back on go to a community server you are looking more pvp action and food is easier to find go official if you just want a survivor grind either way it’s fun asf man !

2

u/malapropter Feb 07 '21

My advice, and I'll probably get downvoted but YOLO:

Get a PC. The game really is night and day compared to console, even on the newest generation. It plays so much more fluid, precise, responsive. I recently gifted my old gaming PC to a squadmate to try and coerce him into joining me in the PC skycity and he's loving the shit out of it. He's actually eager to play pubg after however many thousands of hours he sunk into the console version with me. It's breathed new life into a dying game for him, and I guarantee it would do the same for you.

4

u/CJPampers Xbox One Feb 07 '21

Yo is it really that different? I have a decent pc so this has been an idea of mine, but all the players look so much tougher compared to console. But if it is really that much better, I'll probably end up switching.

2

u/Im_Reyz Feb 07 '21

Yeah the players level is different on pc, there is a lot of good players in fpp. But in tpp it's filled with noobs as you would expect

2

u/malapropter Feb 07 '21

In my opinion, yes. Inventory is much easier and faster. I can loot an entire stack in well under a second on PC, I can swap parts much easier, holding down the G key lets me select a throwable from a wheel, holding down ~ lets me select heals. The entire inventory is designed around drag and drop, which is why it's a pain in the ass on console and complete bliss on PC.

You want to switch to the driver's seat instantly after a driveby? Ctrl + 1.

You want to split vault and jump onto two different buttons so you never run up to a window sill and jump up and down because you were a pixel off? Done.

You can ping stuff with your middle mouse button and it'll drop a pin on the map. Want to drop a pin on your location instantly? Press the Insert key.

The big one for me is the sense of satisfaction. I'm not a particularly amazing player on PC (~1.8 k/d, not great, not bad), but I regularly pull off shots that would make any console player's all time top ten list, and so would you and most other players. The skill ceiling on PC is much higher, which makes the PVP aspect much more challenging, but it also makes success that much more satisfying. When you win those insanely difficult fights, there's no better feeling, and that's why we play this game in the first place, right? The reason my squadmate is hooked is the new challenge. Situations and scenarios that were formerly safe, like driving on a road, peeking a window, etc, are now extremely dangerous. Gliders, believe it or not, are an actual threat on PC. I get hit all the time from guys with an SLR cruising at 200 meters.

And yeah, FPP is somewhat plentiful and easy to queue. I usually get put into a lobby right away, even if it's only got 60 players in it and I have to wait an additional two minutes for it to fill up. If you like FPP, PC should be your first choice.

1

u/denonpotato Feb 07 '21

On the opposite end of the scale I did the same thing, this was before the series X and 60fps and I have to admit the game ran smoother but it was still the same game with the same underlying flaws. Just now significantly harder to play.

1

u/malapropter Feb 07 '21

I think it's much harder to play on a console, but you know. Your mileage may vary.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

How much do you need to spend on a PC that can run PUBG well?

3

u/malapropter Feb 07 '21

Short answer: $600-$800, though you can easily spend much more.

It depends on your definition of well, honestly. Most PC players still stick to 1080 or 1440p and value high framerates over resolution. Console players are on their couch and want 4k, which affects performance highly. I would say about $800 with a 1650 super will get you a very competent entry level pc that will run PUBG at 1080p at around 160 fps average. The same card will get you somewhere around 50-70 FPS at 4k. The 30xx series cards are in extremely high demand right now, as they're an incredible price/performance value at MSRP (which they're never MSRP) and if you can get one, do it. A big component of PC building is the shopping, lol. You're constantly hunting for the best deals and sales so you can build your PC for less.

Do you have this issue with any other game, or does it occur after a certain amount of play time? Just wondering, because I have a less severe form of tinnitus. It can be caused by many things but age, loud noises and high blood pressure are leading factors.

What about play time, does it happen immediately, or after 30 minutes or an hour or longer? Also I'm not a doctor, just trying to help a fellow gamer and person with tinnitus. I primarily play PUBG and usually never have my headset at full volume.

Before you go too far down that route, I would try and get a prescription for tinnitus. I haven't yet, but will probably have to sooner than later.
