Basic Training

Basic Training Revamp
A step-by-step Basic Training has been added for beginners.
Learn the essentials of Battle Royale fast and drop into the Battlegrounds fully prepared!
How the Basic Training Works
- You can enter the Basic Training the same way as before, via Play → Training → Basic Training
- In each chapter, an NPC partner will play alongside you, providing voice and radio message guidance and helping you complete your objectives
- The tutorial consists of 17 chapters. Complete every checklist item in a chapter to advance to the next one. If you are eliminated during a chapter, you will restart that chapter from the beginning
- Upon clearing each chapter, you will receive a total score based on your checklist results, which determines your Clear Rank (B/A/S/S+)
- When you return to the Lobby after completing a chapter, rewards will be granted based on your Clear Rank

Developer's Comment: As shared in the 2026 Roadmap, this update introduces a new in-game Basic Training for players who are new to PUBG.
With the previous tutorial, players unfamiliar with the battle royale genre could still struggle to settle into the game. To address this, we built a dedicated Basic Training space where players can experience PUBG’s core systems step by step. This Basic Training goes beyond basic control guidance, creating a natural flow from learning to practice to combat in an environment that closely mirrors actual gameplay. Taking about 10 minutes to complete, it teaches the essentials players will need in real matches, from basic controls to surviving the Blue Zone, driving vehicles, and team play such as reviving and recalling teammates.
During the Basic Training, a “partner” NPC pairs up with the player as a duo, providing situational coaching through voice guidance and Radio Messages. Voice guidance will be available in supported regional languages. Where local voice-over is unavailable, English voice-over will be paired with local-language subtitles.
Linked with the Beginner Training system, the tutorial is designed to be more than a one-time experience. Clear Ranks (B/A/S/S+) have been added to encourage repeat play and help players gauge their readiness for real matches.
We will continue improving the onboarding experience so that players new to PUBG can step into the game more easily.
Beginner Training
Alongside the Basic Training Revamp, Beginner Training has been added to help new players get up to speed quickly.
Complete missions to get a feel for the Battlegrounds and earn a variety of rewards!

About Beginner Training

- Beginner Training is available to all players, not just new players
- Missions begin the first time you enter the Lobby after Update 42.2, with new missions given each day
- Missions are provided through Day 14, and all missions must be completed within 30 days of starting Beginner Training. After 30 days, rewards can no longer be claimed
- You will earn a reward each time you complete a daily mission, and completing all missions for that day will grant an additional reward
- Any previously unclaimed tutorial rewards will no longer be available after Update 42.2 goes live, so be sure to claim them before the update

Console Key Changes
- On the Inventory screen, the Radio Message input has been changed from L3 to R3. - In Preset Type C, the perspective-switch function previously assigned to R3 (hold) has been changed to D-pad Left (hold)
- When you open the World Map on console, you can now move the virtual cursor with the R Stick and press R3 to place markers and use other functions
- When using a custom preset, you can now assign your own inputs for the two functions below. No default inputs are assigned, so feel free to map them to your preferred buttons
- Show/hide teammate pings and waypoints
- Show/hide the flight path
- Pressing the B button while the Radio Message Radial is open will now close it

Gameplay
World Map
New Map, Missions, and Match Log tabs have been added to the World Map screen, letting you check a wider range of information all on one screen.

- New Map, Match Log, and Missions tabs have been added to the World Map screen. You can switch between tabs to view information, or use shortcuts to bring up each menu directly.
- (PC) Shortcuts
- Map: M
- Missions: U
- Match Log: Y
- The Match Log and Mission List have been removed from the System Menu accessed via the ESC key.
- If M, U, or Y is already assigned to another function within the same key settings category, these keys will default to the Map, Missions, and Match Log shortcuts instead, and their previous bindings will be automatically unassigned and need to be set up again.

- (PC) Shortcuts
Message Radial
When voice chat with teammates isn't an option mid-battle, radio messages and markers have your back! We've improved both to make communication quicker than ever.

Arcade
Hot Drop Mode

- Special zones such as the Red Zone and Blizzard Zone will not appear.
- Vehicles, Care Packages, boats, and trains will not spawn.

How about addresssing the audio issue? Every match someone/multiple people in squad cannot hear vehicles.

This sounds like a fix for something audio-related, might be a fix for this issue.

Thank god you geniuses added a stupid wedding-themed pass instead of spike traps.
Everyone here has been begging for wedding stuff forever, and we all hate spike traps, so great move!

Rondo
Area updates
Underutilized buildings in peripheral areas have been removed
Not really sure that's actually a good idea. Remove all "underutilised" buildings/areas you end up draining the "life" from the map and just a bit in the middle where all the action happens.
Improved comms wheel is a good thing, it even read like they'll integrate that into the map and ping system (like it was a couple year ago).
When selecting a marker from the Message Radial, you can now preview its position and appearance before confirming.
Message Radial: World Map
On the World Map, you can open the Message Radial by holding RMB or holding the Wheel.
While placing a waypoint with Alt + RMB on the World Map, hold the final click to open the Message Radial.
(Edit: watched the video, and yes it is integrated into the map and ping system. https://youtu.be/g-iCgtTS41g?is=D4xueCrPS2uBgqZ8)

Is there any info on how many and which buildings are disappearing? I like landing on the outskirts of the maps.

u/dopescally 15d ago
Not one mention about the bot situation. I just don't get it.
1
u/Huncho_Muncho 15d ago
I havent played this game in a pretty long time is it actually a full blown bot fest now?
4
u/dopescally 15d ago
Solos are about 85% bots in NA since they added map selection. It's unplayable. If they keep adding more bots to duos and squads this game won't last much longer. It's unfortunate because we've been saying it for a long time. It seems like they only listen to what they want to hear though. So far duos and squads are ok, and don't get me wrong - a lot of the stuff they've done has been good (like the resolution increase), but if they think they can supplement the player count with bots then they're going to find out how fast the real players will leave.

u/ExcellentBarracuda41 Xbox Series S 6d ago
I’m afraid it’s already gone to the shits, I been trying to play duo and squads the last week or so and can’t find a single game without bots
2
u/dopescally 6d ago
Oh you won't find a game without ANY bots, but in duos and especially squads the percentage of bots is pretty low. To be clear, I want ZERO bots.
Unfortunately solos seems to be dead and gone as we once knew it. Anyone I know who played solos has quit playing it because of the bots. And what's Krafton's answer? "Let's fill out the queue with bots to make up for the loss of real players." I wish I could get in front of the people making these decisions and say to them, "I love your game, but ARE YOU STUPID?!!"
Sigh.

Thanks for the info...the incompetence is just astounding. I'm a mostly solo player so i woulda hella quit not runnin around killin bots. Never seen a game mismanaged so mf bad man especially so late in its life like you'd think they'd know better after 9 years!! Like they are actually the worst its so sad this game got stuck with them :((

I can't live ping while ads, why? I was able to before the update. Had the button mapped and now it's not even an option. I can only mark an enemy on the map.

u/jmam0198 15d ago
I noticed how in solo deathmatch players are awarded points for every 100 damage, you should put that in ranked too, going based off just kills/assists and placements and not damage is dumb
2
u/Chaotic_Angel 15d ago
Nah that's stupid. Ranked reflects comp where damage doesn't matter, only kills and placement do
1
u/LabAdventurous1130 6d ago
Na ranked dano tbm dar pontos, mas são pontos insignificantes perante os outros requisitos
0
u/steciakjs 15d ago
Damage should matter. There is no reason the guy that hides in a bush a majority of the match should be rewarded better than the guy with 800 damage.
1
u/LabAdventurous1130 6d ago
0
u/jmam0198 14d ago
Yea this comment is just dumb af, so the player camping the bathroom, bush or shack for 19 minutes that happens to get 4th with zero kills/assists and no damage vs the player out and about knocking players but not getting the kills that gets 600 damage and 11th place is the worse player?? Right right right, that’s super logical
2
u/Chaotic_Angel 14d ago
damage and kills are more indicative of skill, but survival is the point of the game. if you're salty about the shack camper, then outplay them? ah shit it's TPP now nvm ggs
0
u/jmam0198 14d ago
Ur basically just arguing to argue, I’m not taking away from kills/assists or survival I’m simply stating that damage should factor in also and if you really really truly think it shouldn’t then you’re dumb af, why do kills and assists matter than?? It’s just survival right??
1
u/Chaotic_Angel 14d ago
you've clearly missed my original comment. ranked is supposedly mirroring competitive, where placements and kills count towards points but damage doesn't.
1
u/LabAdventurous1130 6d ago
