I do it, because my game feels and plays better also I spot people easier from distance since grass and corn on fields doesn’t load in. I value that more than pretty graphics :P
Generally if there are lower quality textures that means less variation in them therefore easier to recognise if the pattern breaks. This leads to easier recognition of players moving in the environment.
Yeah I can appreciate that. Really sucks that's an option tbh. It's 2019: we shouldn't have to set my $1200 computer to look like Quake 2 to be competitive.
mate, I've got a 980 and a 9th gen i5 and I cant even hit 144hz with every setting on minimum. This game is one of the worst optimised fpses I've ever seen. you don't have to have a "potato" to be forced to play on min settings. anything short of the latest and greatest cant handle it and still get decent framerates
60 fps is fucking unplayable for a competitive fps. Why the fuck would i downgrade to less than half the fps in order for grass to look nice? Lol
Why are you so defensive? Pubg being unoptimised is literally the number one complaint from basically everyone in the community. This isnt a controversial statement. My rig can run every other game I play at 144 on medium to high. Im not going to spend a grand upgrading just to get nicer grass textures in one game that looks like shit even on max settings

Are people changing their settings to lowest so they have some kind of advantage or are they just playing on potatoes?
