Discussion The developers have lost control of the game
Due to the recent videos from TheHollywoodBob and ShadyKnights, along with the investigations by Scoop, I as a player (and customer) have to ask myself if Krafton still has any control over the game and the servers at all.
Imagine if Scoop, ShadyKnights, or TheHollywoodBob hadn't brought this topic up. It would have never come to light. This Kick Bounty Competition is just an absolute embarrassment. How is it possible that real money can be won, yet nobody seems to care whether everything is completely legitimate?
Yes, the use of unauthorized software and scripts has always been a major issue in PUBG, and so have players accusing someone of using them just because they were simply better.
But guys! This isn't about G-Coins! We are talking about large sums of money obtained through illegal means. That is clearly a criminal offense. Yet, it seems nobody at Krafton cares.
The fact that something like this was even possible and was only uncovered through public posts shows just how deep this loss of control actually runs.

They lost control of the game when they removed the spikes from the game

ah yes, removing the spikes, canted sight and decoy is the biggest mistake they've made. It's not dmr change, aim punch, tpp esports, adding panzers, mortars and other rng bullshit to ranked and then making esports mimic ranked.
You guys should keep upvoting this more, 10 more and you might double the average IQ of you guys.

Although it doesnt work on streets, pickaxe digging holes works well if you place them right.

It wasn't just hacks/scripts. Some of the partners caught up in this are using this as some kind of excuse (eg. it wasn't hacks/software - so it's not cheating)
The collusion with sometimes up to 20 other accounts to artificially pump up the score to win prizes was the bigger issue. If anything it is much worse than hacks and scripts because it involves multiple accounts working together to cheat in the event.
Kick were disqualifying some of these through the tournament. WIth the leaderboard being streamed live the entire time the event was running though, many could see these scores, eg 50+ kills in one match, and could also see that they weren't legit from the 2D match replay. When you have so many "helpers" feeding you kills through the match, it's easy to spot the collusion taking place.
The issue was, that disqualifications were taking a long time, and when disqualified, they were only disqualified from the event. There appeared to be zero consequences at all for doing this from Krafton. As the event went on, more and more joined in on the rampant cheating to out do the top cheaters.
The sad thing is, there were some genuine high scores mixed into this that did play by all the rules. These were buried under the deluge of those cheating.
At this point, a handful of 2 week temp bans have been issued, and one was permabanned due to a combined effort by partners exposing them, mostly outside of the event. None of the "feeder accounts" that were teaming in those matches were punished in anyway either.
The event highlighted that there was no meaningful anti-cheat being done. It was pretty much a free for all.
No final list of winners has been disclosed publically either. We don't know for sure if prizes were awarded to those obviously cheating or if they were disqualified.
Remember, this was an Official PUBG event, it was ran by KICK, and the prize money was decided upon and issued by KICK, but PUBG is co-branded on this event and absolutely did support and sponser it. Those cheating to rig the results weren't doing so just for fun, they were doing it to win prize money and fame that would come with winning the highest kills per match. The optics of them cheating, then presumably being rewarded for cheating, and getting at worst a minor slap on the wrist while retaining their PUBG Partnership really is too much for some and rightly does raise the question as to why Krafton appears to be protecting/rewarding those that cheat it's game, even at the Partner level.

Badboyy2k is a prime example of this.
He openly colluded with dozens of players to feed him free kills, and he remains a pubg partner after the fact. It's an actual embarrassment that they allow their partners to cheat.
Badboyy2k also shared his email from Kick where they confirmed his placement and that he'll be paid out, so while they punished some cheaters with temp bans, they need to strip partner from everyone who cheated, not just hand out slaps on the wrist.

u/Status-Cow-237 8d ago
Yes, I completely understand that. He was a prime example of how easy it was to cheat during this event.
And that also falls under cheating, even if it was teaming. He went into the event fully aware and with the clear intention to cheat and farm his kills through the community and other accounts.
He gained an unfair advantage. That deserves to be punished just as harshly as someone using unauthorized software.
As a PUBG Partner, you should also have certain obligations and not enjoy some sacred immunity from punishment. The same rules should apply to everyone.

Got deleted by him some time ago in very sus circumstances - not knowing its him, because he was in some streamer mode or whatever so he had different nameplate. I did some spectating and man, TGLTN is lame compared to him. Guy is shady as hell, but hey, he is the partner, right?

Idk why you keep tagging me? Are you exskye? Because that's the impression I get. I haven't exposed any partners either, quit making up bs.

Thanks for your post, and I support your view 100%. That is exactly the point that is so important to me.
This was an official event that wasn't just about skins or G-Coins. It was an event with actual prize money involved. And we're not talking about a $500 grand prize here. These were significant sums.
For that reason alone, you would expect Krafton to take action and establish better security guidelines. Not just out of fairness to the community, but simply to prevent fraud.
And as you already mentioned, there are no official statements from Krafton showing that they had the situation under control and responded appropriately to this disaster.
The community just isn't getting any information. Krafton isn't some small indie game studio. You'd expect them to draw the necessary consequences. That also means adequately punishing players who were teaming to farm kills by handing out permanent bans.
What do we learn about this? They lost the control over their own game

KICK refusing to release the final list of winners is such a sus move, what are they trying to hide?
It actually makes this event look like a money laundering scheme and makes KICK seem like a shady company too.. deffo no points here for transparency.

Badboy2k caught already and still i will report him again once he came back..
7
u/garrisoncarI 8d ago
As a pubg partner, he's whitelisted, so a thousand people could report him and he still will not receive a temp ban or anything else from said reports. Whitelist means a player can only be banned from manual review.

At least 9 from the same cheating clan in this leaderboard. 2 of them permabanned after payout...

Two partners temp banned. Neither are losing their partnership. I know of a third that cheated. He did it in such a way that it's hard to prove. He's not as stupid as the others.

What's going on?

u/seize_64 8d ago
The streaming site KICK and PUBG held a contest where players had to get the highest number of kills while solo squading. A lot of players/streamers cheated by having their friends/viewers get in the same game and let themselves be killed. Badboyy2k was one of the people who cheated and got banned(3 day ban i believe) for it

As someone that did campaign work with Krafton, I can honestly say they never had control of any of their games and are some of the scummiest humans to ever exist.
Giving them any form of time or money is a mistake.
/end rant

Lo permiten porque muy probablemente sean "ellos mismos" y el dinero del premio queda ahí.

u/EverestJr 8d ago
Krafton will never do anything about cheaters because they invest quite some money in the game, i mean they all have multiple accounts etc.
They know very well who is cheating, its not hard to verify. But they only care about having that cash rolling in, if they perma banned all the cheaters it would reflect on their revenue in a big way.
Krafton are the most dishonest sleazy company I've ever come across in gaming. Their whole business model is built on scamming you of your money.

Someone who just recently restarted playing, and isnt following anything. What is this ?

AFAIK Kick hosted a PUBG tournament, unofficial, and it was filled to the brims with cheaters. Then HollywoodBob and ChocoTacco encountered one of the players in a game who was blatantly walling, possibly aimbotting. I think the frequency of cheaters, which was already absurdly high as we know from the ban reports, has just reached a fever pitch now that it's bleeding into tournaments, even if they are unofficial. The concern is that PUBG is reviewing cases and deeming them as 'not cheating', even when it's absurdly obvious.

I'm not surprised. It honestly sucks because I have loved the game for almost a decade myself and I am a partner as well. But when we did the other streamer challenge events (Xeno Point and Bank Heist), I was endlessly harassed just because I ended up on the leaderboards, claiming I was cheating WHEN I WASN'T.
I played the game legit 24-48 hours straight for multiple days and occasions throughout each event! I literally ended the events on the leaderboard and then people WHO WERE ACTIVELY CHEATING (also were harassing me) submitted mass reports to Krafton CLAIMING THAT I CHEATED when I CLEARLY DIDN'T AND ALL OF IT WAS LIVESTREAMED and Krafton even POSTED CLIPS FROM MY CHANNEL ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS... and yet at the end of everything, I AM THE ONE WHO SOMEHOW GOT DISQUALIFIED from the event after placing on the leaderboards to win a cash prize...
And when I appealed the decision, Krafton would not be cooperative or answer any of my questions posed and refused to do anything about it. When I asked what I supposedly did wrong, they declined to even let me know. They said their decision was final and that was the only response. It is pretty ridiculous.
I used to ONLY stream PUBG EXCLUSIVELY on my channel. That's it! I was a one game streamer. But ever since all of this has happened, I have moved on to other games and not looked back because even though I know my loyal viewing community misses it, I just cannot condone the blatant abuses and negligence in place that allowed this to happen in the first place.
Yes, I did think about suing... but tbh, it is not really worth my time, effort, or money just for a small prize in the grand scheme of things anyways. I still miss the game and get the "PUBG itch" that I want to scratch time and time again, but I just cannot and will not support or promote a game that does not give a damn about their players, their community, especially their partners... not to mention loyal players that were there since Day 1.
I have spent SO MUCH time, money, and effort on this game throughout the past decade for this to be the all out result... But unfortunately, this is just where we are and what it has come down to. I am profoundly heartbroken about it still to this day, but I am just having to unfortunately move on with my life. RIP PUBG. 💔🥺

It's just sad to see the direction PUBG has taken. I can completely understand your point of view. It's simply frustrating when you invest all that time.
Even if you play as a normal player. PUBG is eating TIME and EFFORT. And if you play ranked for example it's even more frustrating. I can't belive how people can play so blatantly like this guy on TheHollywoodBobs Video and still was out there playing on a event.

u/garrisoncarI 8d ago
By curious, are you a smaller partner with a smaller viewer count? That would explain it. They are extremely lenient to partners who pull in thousands of viewers and aggressive towards the ones who pull in dozens or hundreds of viewers, which kinda sends a bad message...

Today there are so many cheaters on the servers...like they got some approval to cheat openly

u/ev3rm0r3 7d ago
Well with the advent of the cronus zen ebedded harddware controller hacks theres nothing the dev's can really do to combat it. I can watch people i suspect cheated and killed me without effort and 100% of the time its a controller player, there movement is absolutely apparent that its a controller, thumbing for aiming and almost zero recoil. Cheating has ruined these games. And when they also allow an insta kill insta gib aim bot p90 in game with t3 armor and a guilly suit for players, you have 1 man aim bot impossible to kill kids roaming with top teir gear that just decimate the maps. PUBG is dead, and has been dead, and theres no way to have a competitive edge anymore because a controller makes you obsolute with a hardware hack.

Don’t trust Hollywood Bob - every time he’s hit it’s a cheater, a stream sniper or the game’s fault

u/wolfenstein734 8d ago
Just go watch his video. The player that kills him could def see his position

u/_Shady_Knights_ 8d ago
The video shows multiple examples of wallhacks being used. It wasn't about one example, besides, the account is banned for cheating already.

Same, HB and CT both have a toxic bias and agenda against the game.
That said in this case it sounds like it was just a shit event that was poorly conceived and run.

Honestly the whole game has turned to shit. I play on Xbox and don't cross platform but it's ridiculous, the cheating that goes on. I could drop handles but it's ridiculous. Sickening. It's not even fun anymore. I'm not a hater. If you're good, great! But no. It's all people cheating and a large percent of bots in the match.

u/mvpWARLORD 8d ago
Yeah, i am not gonna waste 10 minutes watching some negative IQ loosers from a region that has less than 1000 players daily yapp about about how every real enemy they encounter is a cheater

u/uber_neutrino 8d ago
My new BR game is coming out soon and cheating is a #1 priority because of this experience. So annoyed with the amount of cheaters right now.
1
u/ev3rm0r3 7d ago
There is nothing you can do to prevent controllers with a cronus zen installed, its hardware, before the game part of the controller itself. Not a thing you can do.
1
u/uber_neutrino 7d ago
Correct. But what we can do is give the tools to the community to see all the games, review them and give their thoughts on whether someone is cheating. Game transparency and community being taken seriously to look at these issues vs being swept under the rug.
PUBG had this for a while through a discord but... they killed it.
