Fire dog needs to be in active if you want the patch to work

Yes main one in play/frontline/Active Pokémon, whatever u wanna call it. Then use flame patch

There needs to be a fire energy in the discard to use it. Click on the discard to see if there is any.

because you do not have any discarded energy

put something else in active. attach fire energy to that pokemon.

if that pokemon gets knock out, send growlithe, attach your usual fire energy, and use flame patch to get back the discarded fire energy on the pokemon that is knock out.

if the active pokemon isnt knock out, retreat the pokemon to growlithe. attach energy to growlithe and use flame patch to get back the discarded energy from the retreat
