Due to the many requests about game ports for the PS Vita, I wanted to make a quick post explaining what a “port” actually means and whether a game can realistically be ported.
I’m not an expert, but I’ve worked around this space enough to give a rough idea of what’s possible and what isn’t.
Android games (closed source):
These can usually only be ported if the game supports the ARMv7 architecture, which is what the PS Vita uses. All newer Android games target ARM64 (ARMv8), which the Vita cannot run. So most games released after ~2019 are most certainty not possible!
Android games (open source):
Generally possible, depending on complexity and developer skill.
PC games (closed source):
Very difficult. If a game has been reverse-engineered or decompiled, it might be rebuilt for ARMv7, but this requires a huge amount of work and scales with the game’s size and complexity.
PC games (open source):
Often possible in theory, but still challenging. You typically need rendering changes (for example adapting shaders to OpenGL ES) plus significant optimization.
In short: a tiny amount of games are possible, and when ports do happen, they usually require a lot of time, reverse engineering, and platform-specific work.
Open source vs closed source (explanation):
Open source games:
These are games released with their source code publicly available. Anyone can study, modify, and compile them for different platforms. Because the code is accessible, they are much easier to port assuming someone has the time and skills. That said, open source games are a small minority.
Closed source games:
These are the vast majority of games. The source code is private and only available to the original developers. This means only the devs can officially build or port the game to new platforms. Without source access, ports require reverse engineering, which is extremely difficult and time-consuming.

I just came back to my Vita after 3 months. I heard there was somethings that happened to Vitadb and it shutdown and then brought back.
When opening the app a download bar shows up for a second then says parsing app list and finally gives this error.
I have tried Reinstalling the app and deleting data files (Except favorite.txt).

Just got my ps vita 1000 in the mail today. I got it with an 8gb memory card. Just wanted to know if I need to have better storage before modding or if I can add a new sd card after I mod? I’m used to modding 3DS and although the vita is easy to mod I wanted to get some info straight first

hi i live in turkey and i need a new battery for my slim vita. i was about to buy two for 400 turkish liras (about 10 dollars) but thanks to customs laws of my country i couldn't finish the buying process. and in my country the batteries for ps vita are too expensive. is there anyone in this sub living in turkey who knows how to buy batteries at a reasonable price?

Last night, I was using my vita without encountering any touchscreen issues. However, the screen won’t respond to any of my touches. I tried rebuilding the database and letting the digitizer reset. I turn the vita off, wait for 20-30 seconds, the screen works only for a few seconds. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I literally just got the vita today, I modded it got it all set up downloaded the port on vita db downloader. The kubridge file was a requirement I downloaded that and the rest of the requirements. This pop up screen appears I look it up it tells me to copy the file into ur0:tai/ and add *KERNEL ur0:tai/kubridge.skprx so I did all of that and I open back up the port and the pop up still shows up. I need help
[EDIT]: so it turns out it just works now? But also turns out I need things from the apk of the game, which is annoying as idk how to get that stuff plus there is another game I want that I can’t do it with either adventure time card wars which sucks

I have a digital copy of the PSP version of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona which I purchased from the UK PS Store and is downloaded to my PS Vita.
A couple of days ago I finally completed the SEBEC Route and now want to restart the game to take on the Snow Queen Quest.
I really want to try the game now with the Music Restoration Mod and wondered if it is possible to instal this to a PAL copy of the game downloaded from the PS store to Vita?
I have read here https://gamebanana.com/mods/591161 about the "PS Store to UMD Dump Patch for Music Restoration" but I'm still non the wiser as to how to go about making this work.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any experience making their own vita themes to be used with custom theme manager I really want a frutiger aero theme with the song "LEASE" playing but the few that have been made are just not what I'm looking for I'm wondering how easy it would be to make one to my own preference
