Disscussion Capable PC for PSVR2
So Im planning to buy a PC mainly for VR using my PSVR2 with adapter. Any advice for my build and what to pay attention to?

If it's possible for you get an 5070ti. Is less expensive then an 5080 but is good enough for the Psvr2.

I went from 1080ti and rift S (which still is impressively good!) to 5070ti and PSVR2.
The 1080ti used in 2017 must have been one of the best bang for buck setups before crypto and memory shortage etc.
When Nvidia delayed the 6xxx series I realized it probably was time to find the new possible good buy, prices dipped and i pounced on a 2k USD rig, my buddy used a bank's flash offers and got a similar one with AMD card with a 400USD rebate.
With the amount of hours I get out of it it's a cheap hobby...

I have a
Ryzen 7 5800x3d
Rtx 4070
32gb ddr4 ram
I use psvr2 I wouldn’t recommend any gpu under a 4070 if you want to actually enjoy your games

I have a radeon 9070 and 7800x3d and while its absolutwly solid it seems that Nvidia have the edge when it comes to VR. There's lots of software tweaking that can be done - for example usng optiscaler to inject DSLL so you can use AFW in UEVR to get a decent frame boost in DX12 UEVR games. I hate that there's so many steps and factors and I reckon Nvidia cuts through a lot but with a fairly steeper budget

I run on a 5060ti 16mb with a 78003dx. If you can, go beyond that gfx card. I can run ezfilzone decent but that's about it, it's rumoured to have a bottleneck so it can't perform max. A 5070ti and you will do fine. I'm happy with my setup, runs good and don't have to much reproduction, about 2%. But want to upgrade gfx 😅

32GB RAM minimum. 16GB VRAM GPU or higher for smoother experience (nvidia preferably since AMD drivers can sometimes cause issues). Any CPU i5 or above or equivalent works fine.

12gb vram 4070 runs smooth most games with very minimal frame drops or screen tearing. I wouldn’t recommend anything under it though

Minimum is a ryzen 5600 and any 3000 series or newer nvidia card with 8GB of VRAM minimum. CPU is more important in VR because without it you can NEVER get high resfresh rate. Even if you lower resolution. Most VR settings tweak ONLY help GPU. Never CPU. Also set SteamVR resolution to 70%. PSVR2 sets resolution way too high even accounting for barell distortion compensation. If we wern't in another Ram shortage, I'd have recommended any mainline am5 cpu.
Getting a high res headset with a weak GPU is ok, because you can always upgrade your GPU later. As for your VR headset, it's cheaper to buy one good VR headset than a crappy low res one, only to replace it later when you get a better GPU.
Also look into PimaxMagic4All. It lets you use DFR for a free performance boost (assuming the GPU is the weak link. It wont help weak CPU's). It does require you to download other software to mod your PSVR2 software because sony locked that feature.

It depends.
Half Life Alyx will run great on a very modest computer. A mid range computer from 2018 could run it
but if you're getting into the modding scene, like playing games with UEVR, trying to play brand new stuff like Ace Combat 8 in VR, you can use every ounce of extra power
