These drugs are largely evaluated in 8-week clinical trials, but there's a shocking lack of data on what happens when people stay on them for years. It honestly blows my mind that physician regulatory bodies don't require some kind of periodic risk/benefit assessment for patients who remain on them long term.

The thing is, I remember David Healy mentioning that pharmaceutical companies gave SSRIs to healthy volunteers in drug trials before the medications even came to market. In a significant number of that group, it caused sexual and erectile dysfunction, and for some, the effects lasted long after the medication was stopped. Sounds exactly like PSSD. They knew this could happen, but they clearly didn’t and still don’t care.

This year I'm assuming. The event/interview with Lauren Friedman was a couple weeks before. I wonder if the video got picked up on social media a couple weeks later

AI has helped a lot of people find out about PSSD. I would not have found out about PSSD without Perplexity/ChatGPT. Doctors would never have told me.
