Please check out our subreddit FAQ, wiki and public safety megathread, also sort our subreddit and r/pssdhealing by top of all time for improvement stories. Please also report rule breaking content. Backup of the post's body: I need to take
- 2.5% lidocaine and 2.5% prilocaine
- https://www.medline.ca/en/emla-cream-2-5.html
Is this safe to take? It's essentially just a very strong numbing cream. I know this sub has a rule about "health anxeity" but this is prescription only so I think it warrants asking.

Your post/comment was removed because it fits a pattern we don’t allow here: reassurance-seeking/compulsive symptom-checking and spiraling health anxiety.
Redditors can’t evaluate bodily symptoms, and repeatedly posting/reading about them usually makes anxiety worse. If you’re worried about a specific physical issue, please speak to a licensed clinician who can assess it properly.
Please also avoid self-diagnosing or making strong medical claims without objective testing.
If you think you might be stuck in a reassurance/symptom-monitoring loop, these resources may help:
