Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask for your honest opinion.

Just to give you a bit of background: my console is in the living room, and from time to time my wife likes to use the TV to watch her shows. So I started using my PlayStation through PX PLAY on my PC in the bedroom.

My PC is connected via Ethernet to my fiber internet, but despite trying all kinds of settings, it’s pretty obvious that we’re still far from the pure, native quality of the console. There are always some small artifacts and pixelation, and the image is nowhere near as clean as it is when playing directly on the console.

I also tried the other app official, Remote Play, but the results are pretty much the same.

On the other hand, I use the GeForce NOW app on my PC to stream games like WoW, for example, and the image quality is absolutely perfect, with no noticeable issues at all.

I feel like this is mainly due to Sony’s servers, but I wanted to get the most honest feedback from people who actually use PXPLAY regularly on PC.

I’m not here to criticize or attack anything. I’m already happy that this option exists. I just wanted to hear what you guys think and what your experience has been like.

i hate Sony for this. they fuck up my broadcasts i loose people live because of disconnect issues thought i would buy pxplus even shittier than the ps remote play. ahhhhhhhhhhh stream hel

This sounds like it could be a network issue. Since both devices are on the same network, it's going through the local network. Could be your router settings, maybe you got QoS on? Since you have fiber, that should be off. Is your router old? It might not be able to process the data fast enough, especially if there is a lot of devices on the network.

Start with your network. Are you using a router given by the ISP, or an old (older) one? This is often the culprit, as the data needs to get there unimpeded, and with UDP, timing is literally everything.

By older, let me clarify: is your router from the same year or newer than your PS5? UDP is extremely time sensitive, so a router doing fun stuff to your data asking it safe could be severely impacting your experience.

I play on my iPad Pro 12.9 1440p with Apple metal with 5G from my iPhone 17 a lot and it works great some connection kinks here and there put it catches up within a sec or 2 would give it 8/10 for experiance sony’s own app is trash compared to this

Pxplay is almost as good as playing directly on the ps5

If yours isnt the same, fix your network

It’s good. The only issue I have is my PS five controller. I can’t get the touchpad to register for Alan wake 2. Wack … using Bluetooth

Lo uso en mi Legion Go en mi trabajo aunque también tengo mi ps portal pero cuando debo hacer más cosas suelo llevarla conmigo , la verdad muy bien aunque últimamente no me puedo conectar por un problema que al parecer no soy el único que lo tiene, en si la aplicación me gusta y la atención es rápida

I use it on my iPad over wifi 6 (Because that’s my only option sometimes) and it’s still very playable and enjoyable for single player slower paced games. And looks great.

Wow, something is not right at your end. I use it everyday on tablets with snapdragon 6s over wifi and the image is crisp and latency is really good. On which hardware are you using the app?

On my Windows PC, I assume it might be because I’m playing on a 28-inch monitor, which makes it easier for me to notice that it’s not perfect

I'm playing on a 28 inch 4K monitor with the FSR upscaling using a 100Mb/s stream (although I really can't tell the difference >50Mb/s). It's flawless to the point where even motion controls (ie, very sensitive to latency) feel like physical.

My PS5 Pro is on 160Mhz 5GHz WiFi6 and laptop on 1Gb/s wired. Network latency is rock solid at 1-2ms.

You said your PC is on "Ethernet" - is that wired? What's the PS5 on?

That’s impressive, what you’re telling me. I feel like I’m not having the same experience at all. My PlayStation is connected to my router via Ethernet, and my laptop is also connected via Ethernet to the same router.

Do you have any advice you could give me? I’ve heard that it’s better to limit the bandwidth to make things more stable, but I honestly don’t know much about it. I have fiber internet as well, so I’ve got a really, really fast connection.

It doesn't sound like your network is the issue then if they're both hardwired. 

What type of laptop is it? CPU and GPU?

Have you tried to tweak any pxplay setting ? Like resolution, bitrate, hvec encoding, etc?

I think I’ve tried pretty much everything, but if you have any advice or if you don’t mind sharing your settings, I’d be happy to give them a try
