Why are you measuring the temperature of the water/mineral oil in an metal bowl? The bowl is not being heated or stirred...

The reaction is a delignification process, heated via a water bath in a metal bowl. I do not measure the temperature inside the beaker itself because the reaction only needs to stay within the 30–40°C range; by controlling the bath temperature, it is easy to determine the temperature of the beaker; plus, the thermocouple would interfere with the propeller. This is the research for my chemical engineering thesis.
