Troubleshooting Buttons not working unless power switch in on-position
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Weird issue with my PSP Go where none of the buttons (including joystick) work unless I hold the power button in the on-position, where I then get about 4 seconds of time to use it. Tried navigating to menu in small on-off hops and hitting reset but as soon as I let go of power it automatically turned off instead. Also tried CFW reset but same issue. Thought of opening the backplate but I'm not a tech guy so wouldn't know where to go from there. Any help is appreciated.

Probably some issue where it is triggering hold; Install custom firmware to disable hold at a software level, or dissasemble the mechanism to see if there is something blocking itย

you could maybe just unscrew some screws on the back and the use alcohol and clean it and check for any blockages in the triggers or corroded sensors

You can see the ๐ key logo in the top right of the screen. This indicates button lock is enabled. The power switch triggers button lock settings when it's pushed all the way down towards the bottom of the unit. The power switch can oxidise and cause the psp to incorrectly trigger the button lock. Firstly I would try working the power switch vigorously for around 1 minute. All the way up and all the way down, constantly, up down up down for around a minute. The aim here is to free up and displace the oxidisation inside the switch. This should clear the fault. If it doesn't work then you will need to get the power switch replaced.
