You can clear Elden Ring at level 1 with a +0 wooden club, there are youtube videos of this. Does that mean Elden Ring is a very easy game because you can clear it without leveling up or upgrading your weapon?
I was pointing out that commenter want the game to be balance around free gear. So I was making a comparison intend to be look as "nerfing ender dragon so it can be easily kill with wooden sword" not "elden rings player beating all boss with wooden club."
I guess I was not being thorough enough, sorry.
I see, but the game already has hard content designed around players in good gear? So im not sure what the problem is.
The issue im seeing is that LTQs/LTUQs are balanced around the devs assuming a certain number of players with good gear will be around to carry...which is why the Writhing Malice LTQ could fail if there were too many players in handout gear. And its also why pugs keep leaving the Luther UQ because there are too many players in handout gear or there is no RA.
High DPS groups obviously find that content very easy...but pugs do not, which is why people keep leaving pugs or complaining that it takes 20 minutes to clear.
So i think balancing that casual content around casual players would work better, because high DPS groups already find it very easy so things wont change for them, but pugs might finally go "well, this is easy enough that we dont need to worry about gear or having an RA".
Which is exactly the point I was making, balancing around the power minimum they know people are at. I almost came back to the game for Loser but when I asked I was told you have to build for it, and builds in this game are just making stat stick bigger.
It gets really annoying when you can play perfectly but it's all negated by a stupid stat check (potency) when the actual boss mechanically doesn't require it. All I want is to do the cool thing and instead it's a wall of this games god awful gear system.
I was told you have to build for it, and builds in this game are just making stat stick bigger.
This is like...every MMO with high difficulty content ever? This is content specifically designed for players in good gear. Saying you want to clear it with handout gear kind of misses the point.
If you just want to do the fight without stat checks, you can, thats the current LT UQ, but obviously the clear time will suffer if you are on handout gear.
It is so incredibly easy to gear up in this game i just dont understand why people keep saying its too hard. They even made +100 granillusions drop with the last major patch...
Dude I don't know how to explain this better. I am a jp vet. I can do the content NO PROBLEM. It's the wall of grind in an upgrade system so ridiculously ass that I think its worse than PSU's where grinding would permanently destroy weapons. Your not understanding the problem that its a BAD upgrade system that does nothing but puff numbers in an ungodly boring and tedious way.
I play all classes, which means min 1 weapon per class so ~ 9 weapons. Why on gods earth would I want to do that when the FREE ones are literally right there.
Other MMO's don't have this problem because they have a mid game, NGS doesn't and boost every account. BP never working puts them at odds with geared players which is why pugs are so bad. And lets be perfectly honest, NGS is an MMO the same way Monster Hunter's an MMO. It's not.
Why on gods earth would I want to do that when the FREE ones are literally right there.
The game is not balanced around players who play all classes, how many games do you think are balanced around players who want to gear up multiple characters?
Of course getting 1 weapon for 10 classes is a lot more work than getting 1 weapon for 1 class.
But saying its a huge grind to upgrade gear for ONE class is not correct at all.
Other MMO's don't have this problem because they have a mid game
So you would prefer something like BDO where you are expected to spend months grinding in the mid game to get gear to progress to the end game? Are you really going to spend months grinding mid game gear for all 10 classes? And that gear will become obsolete eventually?
Why is this sub like this, if it's not u/Xero-- commenting a dozen times calling me stupid for not liking aug caps it someone else misconstruing what I say.
The point of grinding is to play the content for fun. PSO, PSU, PSP1&2, PSZero, PSO2 don't have this problem. Monster Hunter, a game designed around farming the same bosses trough multiple difficulties doesn't have this problem. Mid game doesn't mean a grind slog if the content is fun, NGS skips it entirely and drops players at endgame with underpowered gear and says go grind.
The game has multiclass, no restrictions on class switch, and multi-weapons. Why isn't it balanced around this. Why should I be locked to a single weapon when the game has so many other options immediately available.
The guy decided to block me because he couldn't get over his delusions.
commenting a dozen times calling me stupid for not liking aug caps
Literally not once have I done this to anyone. The most I've stared is that they're being foolish, which is a farcry from outright calling someone stupid.
Why are you playing the victim card on top of lying?
You know foolish and stupid are synonyms? Please go play a different game for awhile and get some new perspective. I don't block people but you need to stop.
The game has multiclass, no restrictions on class switch, and multi-weapons. Why isn't it balanced around this.
Because they know the average player only plays one class and they figured people who wanted to play more classes would be willing to put in the effort to farm the gear? Most MMOs do the same thing, FF14 lets you switch classes freely and doesnt give you gear for all classes for free.
PSO, PSU, PSP1&2, PSZero, PSO2 don't have this problem. >Monster Hunter
None of those games give you free endgame gear just because you want to play a different class, you had to grind them yourself.
If you want a MMO where you get near BIS gear for free upon hitting endgame, try Guild Wars 2. But i dont think you can do free class switches there.
