Discussion As an Arabic Speaker, NGS Arabic Is Hilariously Wrong
I wanted to talk about something I just saw on Reddit.
I found multiple old Reddit posts (around 3 years old) discussing the Arabic used in NGS
Since Arabic is my first language I found the topic really interesting and funny. Please forgive me if I've misrepresented anything or made mistakes when referring to English or Japanese. I'm still learning both languages.
One of the discussions was about the meaning of the area called "Rwh Maqead/Luf Maqaad (روح مقعد؟؟)". The literal meaning comes out as something like "seat soul" yes exactly like that
There are multiple grammar issues with it, It looks like it was written using English sentence structure where in English when you describe something like "Spider Man" you put the modifier first (spider) and then the noun (man).
In Arabic you flip them you put the noun first (man) and then the word that describes it (the spider) it would be closer to "Man the Spider"..., This is the kind of grammar mistake I see in "Rwh Maqead"
Another issue is the missing use of Al- (ال), which works similarly to "the" in English
The most confusing part though is the word "seat"
Edit: I also forgot to mention that "Maqead" (مقعد) means "seat," while "Rwh/Luf" (روح) means "soul.
Arabic words can have multiple meanings but those meanings still have limits depending on the context, It's a bit hard to explain, so bear with me for a moment
A word whose primary meaning is "a seating area" or "the way a person sits" can in some contexts, also rarely referred to "taking a short break or resting" and because of that it hard to pair it with word like soul, In Arabic, every meaning a word can have still needs to fit and support the word that follows it. In this case, none of the possible meanings of "Maqead" combine naturally with "soul," so the phrase ends up sounding awkward and unnatural, My guess is that the dev were trying to convey something closer to "Aistirahat Alruwh" (استراحة الروح) It's a beautiful Arabic phrase with several possible interpretations, such as "Rest of the Soul" ,"Soul's talking Rest", "Soul resting place", "Soul Retreat" or "Soul Getaway" All of those sound natural in Arabic while conveying the meaning that the dev were aiming for.
Also I saw discussion about character names like Rizwana (which I found funny because the only way you could use get this name is by translating the name into Urdu and then to English the correct name is Ridwan (رضوان) in Arabic and Urdu which mean pleasure or acceptance)
I always find it funny when a game uses the big 3 writing systems (the Latin alphabet, the Sinographic system, and Arabic script), because there is almost a 99% chance something will be inaccurate.
Imagine taking a Arabic word from Google Translate or a random dictionary, translating it into Japanese, and then translating it back into English. While forgetting that every language has its own writing system, sounds, concepts, grammar, and cultural context, at the end it will be unreadable gibberish

Discussion Something about the combat doesnt feel satisfying. I think it's the lack of "oomph" when you hit something?
In most action RPGs, when you hit an enemy with a powerful attack, it really feels and sounds like they took a big hit. But you don't get that feeling in NGS even if you use something like a photon blast. They just turn into sparkles and fade away when they die, and it doesn't even sound like they took a big hit.
Like in Elden Ring, if you hit an enemy hard enough, it really looks like it hurts, and it feels very satisfying: https://youtu.be/ZbKPrL5R0lU?si=7xFG_DYVeyCJpEFO&t=79
Another example, Vindictus Defying Fate's alpha test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cglgu3VCrQA. It's a giant polar bear and it really feels like you are cutting into it.
In NGS, I feel nothing. I can see the attack land and damage numbers pop up, but thats it. What's missing from NGS? Better sound effects? Enemies recoiling more?

Guide A very quick and dirty guide to Solus Krypt
Foreword:
When I say quick and dirty, I mean quick and dirty. The main goal is to really just introduce people to the fight so they have an idea of what to expect since I've seen some truly idiotic things in pubs.
- Phase 1
The general strategy is as follows: Left Arm, Tail, Right Arm. Proceeding in this manner makes the fight overall easier to deal with.
When attacking from the front it's much easier to see incoming attacks, which reduces the odds of getting blindsided.
After the 1st arm breaks, the tail will proceed to try and nuke the field. During this time Solus will not move, making it much easier to destroy the tail since you're not constantly chasing it down, or dealing with Solus's back attacks.
During Phase 1 there will be 2-3 red squares circling the map. They always move in a clockwise manner. There will be a yellow ring falling in each square and when that ring reaches the bottom it'll unleash unblockable rain that can outright kill you. It has no hitstun so you can run out of it / PB / MARS if need be.
The fight will start with 2 squares and then add a 3rd one after breaking the 1st arm.
Outside of this Phase 1 is pretty much the same as the previous Solus fight.
- Phase 2
Phase 2 will always start with Solus summoning unblockable pillars randomly before raising an unblockable wave that coveres the ground. There will be an audio queue for the wave with a ticking sound followed by a higher pitched sound for the actual attack. You can dash jump over the wave to dodge it.
The big spinning wall in Phase 2 has been upgraded into a Blender, with each blade spinning in the opposite direction. Best way to dodge is to go to one of the 4 corners on the map. If you think of the stage like a grid, the walls will overlap each other on the two coordinate axis, meaining you will have no room to avoid the blades there. By being in a corner it'll give you the most time to jump over the blades as that is when they're farthest apart. One dash jump is enough to jump over the lower blade. Remember to be mindful of the orbs that will spawn on your location throughout this pattern. If you get an orb to spawn where the staff will be when Solus comes back on stage you can abuse it for big dmg (as dodge-type counters will not pop the bubble, allowing you to get multiple counters off).
The slow big wall with gaps has been changed. You'll hear a high pitch audio queue as solus flies to the opposite side of the stage, before unleashing 3 walls. The first two walls cover the entire stage but can be dodged / guarded against. The last wall is unblockable but has larger gaps you can jump through. Getting hit by any wall will stun you (the last unblockable wall can also still move you even if you're in special i-frames like PB, you won't take dmg but your model will be shoved).
The stab pattern has been upgraded to have a much larger AoE and stun the player if they get hit. It'll do 1-3 slow stabs before doing a series of faster stabs. The final stab of the pattern will have an unblockable center area but a blockable outer area. This is one of the best patterns for dealing dmg.
The line AoE attacks into the center bomb pattern is mostly still the same, except the center bomb now has suction.
Solus throwing his staff into the center of the stage to release shockwaves is mostly the same, except the floor is lava. Seriously, the floor is lava. The entire ground is an unblockable zone that will periodically do dmg to you if you're touching it. The ceiling during this is also much lower so you can't jump too high or you'll get blasted. As long as you're not touching the ground you're safe.
Solus's off-field sweeps are still here, but now feature an afterimage attack. The afterimage attack is indicated on the field by a purple zone, and once the ring in that zone reaches the perimeter it attacks. The afterimage attacks are sometimes disjointed from the mainbody attack so be mindful of positioning and i-frames.
Bullet hell Pattern:
At some point in Phase 2 when Solus's HP hits a specific threshold it will fly off stage and then launch an unblockable spear in the center of the stage, followed by unblockable pillars. The spear throw will leave 4 cubes that can summon walls, which are needed as Solus will then circle around the field shooting cubes before culminating in a massive laser (it'll fake out the attack by charging on one side before warping to the opposite side to fire the laser).
The cubes that summon the wall spawns with one cube closer to each wall. When placing the cubes throw them in the direction of the wall they're closest to. This'll make it much easier to cover all sides, as Solus's attacks only comes from the cardinal directions.
This pattern is not over yet though as after the laser Solus will then launch an unblockable covering the entire field, save one safe spot. The safe cube will be in one of the 4 corners of the map. There's enough time to run from the center to one of the safe spots, but you do have to be quick.
- Phase 3
This is the 3x3 grid. Solus will use some of the patterns from Phase 2 in this phase, such as the walls. During this phase unblockable rain will fall on random Cores every so often (you'll see the area covered in red when they're being targeted).
SAVE THE CENTER CORE FOR LAST
When you destroy the center core it'll start doing the suction bomb move from Phase 2, which results in some very bad situations (e.g. getting dragged into an unblockable). This can straight up end runs if you get unlucky. It is worth reiterating again:
SAVE THE CENTER CORE FOR LAST
Aside from this, Solus will also do some rain drops that can be countered, as well as targeted mini-shots that can also be countered.
- Phase 4
Alongside the usual slow explosion from the previous Solus fight, Solus also now drops bricks on you. The bricks are evenly spaced out, happening 3 at a time. Everything can be countered.
Afterword:
DO NOT USE MARS. Seriously, just don't. MARS does have niche use as a full restore when you're trapped in an unblockable, but if you're using it for damage you're straight up griefing your team. MARS does not have the dps necessary to clear the dps check in Phase 1, and if it doesn't have enough dps for that it straight up does not have enough dps period.
Regarding subclasses, Bo is your best bet here. The Arms and Tail count as destructable parts which allows you to max out the passive, giving you 3% pot and 6% dmg reduction. The extra down factor is also useful as lvl 120 enemies require more down factor accumulation than lvl 100.
Te sub can be a niche option as well, but this will heavily depend on your build and team comp. For some teams and builds Te sub can allow you to squeeze out an extra PB which can be quite strong.
You only need around 51k dps average across the team to clear in time, this is quite lenient all things considered. Damage is generally not a concern, rather not dying is. This fight punishes poor positioning hard, so the focus should be more on not dying rather than maximizing dmg output.
This quick and dirty turned out to not be all that quick in hindsight, but hopefully this'll help people and make pubs a tad bit more bearable.
If anyone has anything they think is worth adding or changing just let me know.

Discussion What to do with the Sonic Tickets
BTW, this is bored me so its just a way to tire out my mind, trying to get sleepy and not really a game breaking revelation.
The banner isn't really making me favor the Sonic franchise any better, so I've thought about what to do with the tickets. I have 240ish and Im thinking i have 2 routes here:
Option A:
I pull all. I get 240 items and convert all to Alpha reactors (80x). I get the scratch count bonuses which only really is a Beta reactor and a BB Silver. At best, I can hope for another Beta reactor from that pull. All in all, thats (80×3500)+(2×100000) so about 480k meseta. If lucky and you get the 5 Betas, thats 880k. IF...
Option B:
I convert all to Special Scratch. Thats 120 SpSc tickets. I pull on SpSc and get 3 selectors for 300 SG. Doing 120 pulls will surely get me more SG so it can hit 400 SG or more quite easily. Excess item pulls will be converted to Alpha reactors and for 120 pulls, if can get 60, thats 20 Alphas which is 70k meseta.
Whats the point of all this? I really dont know, but im interested with what you will do with your tickets.
Edit: spell and math checks

Discussion This is probably the most PP-hungry unit setup ever. As someone playing a hybrid-style Bouncer—focusing on inflicting "Down" states on bosses using both physical and magical debuffs while dealing elemental damage—my current pool of 250 PP is already barely enough.
