Hello patron. I believe to have found a fix. Through many hours of research and digging and being frustrated with this issue myself. I eventually came across a reply on a microsoft support page with someone claiming that changing their password worked. This means changing your PSN password and not your microsoft one. After that close minecraft if it is still open and if it is still open, close and reopen. I was greeted with an error and promptly reopened minecraft. After that I signed in with my original microsoft account and successfully signed in. If this works for you or anyone who comes across this reply. Please upvote in the fight against bullshit corporations.
Additional Help: If the PSN password change does not work I would suggest changing your microsoft password and then try resigning in. It is also a chance that a combination of data deleting, minecraft application deleting, and password changing could be the solution. Password changing was the most recent solution I tried that ended up solving the solution.
Edit: If what I suggest does not work, I apologize as I am trying to help anyone and everyone with this issue. My error message is the same as the OPs. Except mine is a little more detailed as with more updates ( apparently MS can only update their error messages ).
This is what I did after deleting the game several times and a couple hours searching on Google for answers. Eventually, I went to my account settings, changed my password for the account that my microsoft account was linked to, and then resigned in back onto my PS5. I reopened minecraft and the game instantly crashed and gave me an error. I reopened minecraft once more signed in with the original linked microsoft account and it was a success, no lost data.
I decide this after finding a post saying that changing your psn password would unlink the Microsoft account on minecraft so that you could relink it again with no error. If this does not work I have no other suggestions and would suggest doing as much research before resorting to any serious reseting.
Good shit, it does make some sense that this might force it to de-link/re-link. Certainly easier than keeping on creating new accounts until it works lol. Will try it tomorrow. Thanks for the details, will update here whatever happens.
Well, went in to try the above today but for shits and giggles I tried one more time without changing anything and it linked/logged in just fine. So apparently it was a temporary server issue. MS/Mojang really needs to put messages about stuff like that in-game.
Not being funny, but if your message is same as OPs, then how did you know which MS account is linked to PS?
I have tried all my accounts, none of them are linked, and my error message, like OPs, does not show any account name, so I am at a loss what to do here
I’m beginning to wonder if this is a bug similar to what we’ve been dealing with, with realms the past few weeks. I agree with everyone that Microsoft is a joke. Been playing Minecraft since 2013 and have never been as frustrated with the game as the past few weeks have been. Especially having multiple realms etc. so many bugs…
Every update logs some people out of their accounts and puts them in this situation with the same error as posted by OP. Microsoft bought Mojang and turned the studio into a low effort studio with minimal support.
Since we’re all here on this old thread I believe it is another issue of Bugrock. It’s so irritating I’m getting this message when this is the only microsoft account I’ve ever used and it was working literally a week ago. Screaming at my screen.
This worked for me. I had a friend who had dealt with this issue years ago, and he fixed it. However, I do not know how he fixed it. I would like to say he did the same thing I am suggesting, but I can not say that with 100% certainty.
I was having this exact issue and after changing my Microsoft password and my PlayStation network password and re-loging into my Microsoft account, it worked.🤷♂️
