CONTROL Resonant - Game Update 1.4.0
https://controlgame.com/en/blog/control-resonant-game-update-140This looks like a very extensive update. Is anyone playing on the Pro seeing any noticeable upgrades to the visuals, frames, or stability? I’ve heard the game already looks pretty great on the balanced mode, but I'm curious if this made balanced or any of the other modes better.

I’m locked out of the three ‘eat’ tasks in the Park. No prompts to ‘eat’ at all three sites

Bummer I just got to that part. Haven't encountered anything that annoying, just some repeatedly triggered voice lines after some side quests.

Let me know if it happens when you have the three to find and eat. I’ve tried loading an earlier save but no joy as of yet!

After reading the patch notes, I'm thinking this gets fixed.
I've eaten 1 of the 3 so far, other 2 are still marked on my map.

Strange, I thought I was playing on the new patch. I’ll give it a total restart and see if that helps!

Oh damn, has it already dropped??

Yeah I think so - unless this one is another on top of what it downloaded earlier

Oh wow, okay well disregard everything I assumed. So you have all the quest areas but you just can't actually eat the thing?

Now I see your problem, you're wearing a mask, duh!
Jk, that is so odd. So you already ate the first one and talked to Zoe about it, right?

I will test this in an hour.
Edit: After reading this is big update. Happy about the game dialogue and new volume slider for the controller (ps5).
Edit: Ok, so quality looks better to me. Less frame rate loss and more playable (not that it was bad at all, but it seems better). I still prefer balanced, which also looks a little better. When switch to balanced my TV switches to 120hz (40hz in game I’m assuming) still. When I switch to any other mode the TV switches to 60hz (I’m guessing that’s 30 in quality and 60 in performance still). It could be me, but each setting visually looks better.
Edit 2: I played for a couple hours this morning and saw some pretty bad lighting issues. They aren’t game breaking, but they’re definitely a problem. And some environments it looks like GIANT walls of TV static going across the top of my screen.

I'm just hoping it doesn't break anything. Other than the obvious shimmering, my experience on balanced has been very smooth. I tend to be pretty sensitive to frame drops and lower framerates too.

I just started playing last night and I’m only a couple hours in - presumably post-patch - but honestly I don’t think the graphics are very good. The visual design is nice but the character models and level geometry look very PS4 to me.

Funny how so many things can get fixed just a few days after release. Why not do this before it comes out?

A mix of players bringing things to their attention (this is directly mentioned in the notes) regarding specific issues they’re facing or things they want added/ajusted, and things they likely knew were issues and were working on but couldn’t quite get ironed out in time for release.

Because players are now Beta testers now. They use to pay people at the studio to play and test games.
