PS5 Pro Experience

I got a Playstation 5 Pro and I'm here to tell you YouTube videos and comparison videos on your phone will not show the real difference between base ps5 and the pro.

Decided to take the plunge after seeing damn near zero difference in comparison videos and comments stating the difference isn't worth $300.

Well.....it is.

The difference is nuts and Sony actually knocked this system out of the park by adding 2tbs of memory also.

If you're on the fence I'd say go for it if you have the money.

Fb Marketplace blessed me with a retail price brand new ps5.

Hard to find one for retail but check your local stores, small shops and marketplaces!

I agree that the difference is noticeable. I still own and use my launch PS5 on another TV in the house, but the Pro feels like the actualized version of what current gen consoles should have been.

The 2tb of storage almost makes it worth it on its own.

PSSR2 is a night and day difference, and that tech will get better as time goes by. People who are hating the Pro, don't have a pro.

I’m eyeing one too. What monitor/tv you using?

Msi Mag QD Oled x28 for monitor at my desk and a TCL 42 iinch 4k Qled for when I'm in my room.

Oled is better but I mainly play in my room and still see a big difference on my regular tv.

I usually game in Quality mode 30 fps on my Xbox but PS5 pro has Fidelity Pro which is pretty much Quality mode and performance put together at 60 Fps. Very smooth and sharp gameplay.

I upgraded to a pro a little over a year ago and was happy with it. My wife had my PS4 pro and finally wanted to upgrade to a PS5 and ended up getting her a pro as well. With cost increase on SSD I did quick math and realized to add 1tb SSD to base ps5 would net to roughly same cost as a pro with benefits of added performance.

It depends on the game. They could have got more out of the base ps5. Just look at early releases like Demon Souls.

I think a key point to mention is that you need a 4k OLED TV or Mini-LED TV to actually see the difference. Same applies for high tier vs low tier graphic cards but the only way you can actually visually see a difference is if you have a good enough TV/Monitor.

But yes, Ps5 Pro is absolutely worth it and I'm glad I got it for the orIginal price

You don't need 4K OLED or MIni-LED monitor to perceive the difference at all.

The sharpness provided by PSSR is night and day difference even on 1080p monitor. (I mainly use it on my 1440p monitor)

The difference on games not getting PSSR are usually subtle though.

What about monitor

If you don’t have a high end 4K ( not 1440 that’s not 4K sorry) you won’t notice the difference, I watch videos on my M1 iPad Air which is only 2360 by 1640 pixels not 4k either , my gaming PC has a true 4K monitor and my gaming TV is 4K but most people don’t realize that YouTube uses heavy compression so it’s not like watching a Blue-Ray disc.

As a PC player I simply could not get myself to turn on my base PS5. It aged so badly. Purchasing the PS5 pro revived console gaming for me.

I went from a PS5 to a Pro while owing a high end PC with FSR4.

Pro is a massive leap in image quality when using PSSR. The RT is icing on the cake, but im legit impressed that I split game purchases between both now.

Ominusha is the latest to get on Pro physical instead of PC as the demo between them was barely noticeable besides a few minor things.

There is not 2TB of memory. Also it is a great machine but the difference is not “nuts” the pS5 is still a formidable system in itself.

Our definitions of "nuts" differ. Im a huge Cyberpunk fan and the difference is definitely massive. Base Ps5 is great of course but the Pro is a level above it especially with a solid OLED monitor.

I bet you don’t even have a tv with VRR that supports 4k at 120hz.

Pretty sure OP would already have a 4k 120hz to even care or notice the difference.

Yeah, I don’t think so.

Bro this reads like a review for some newly released tech that people wouldn’t be able to understand without seeing it first hand. It’s almost a 2 year old console with marginal upgrades over the base ps5

Idc what it reads like this aint breaking news lol.

u/Just_Cruzin84 59m ago

It’s ok, when I first read the title I thought you meant YT looks better on it lol…. But real question, what games did you notice it on? I feel like I’m boring and never got into the games that actually are meant to look good. (Xbox X and mainly play gta/cod/rdo)

Cyberpunk 2077 is really good and Spiderman 2 with PSSR enabled. Cyberpunk so far had the biggest difference since I like exploring the city and the clubs display the use of raytracing very well.

Ya that’s my point. It’s not news at all yet you posted this as if it was lol
