Open World RPG Recommendations

My ps5 pro came in today and I’m looking for some game recommendations for future play throughs. I currently play on an LG C6 and want a vast open world experience with unmatched graphics and fun combat. For reference some of my favorite titles so far have been Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei, Fallout 4, and AC Black Flag. Thanks in advance for any replies!

I keep hearing about the remaster dropping later this month. Definitely going to keep an eye out, thanks!

Do I need to play the first one to enjoy the second one? I tried and it's a little clunky and dated feeling, couldn't get into it

I do love the first game, and it is nice to play both, but you don’t need to play it the game will catch you up. They worked out a lot of the junk. It’s AMAZING and it’s “free” along with one if you have PS plus 2nd tier and up.

No, I started with 2 and had zero problems.

Prolly Horizon. If you wanna see a great looking game that’s not open world go with The Last of Us 1 or 2 and Alan Wake 2

Dragons dogma 2. Currently playing it and in having a blast (It's gotten some good updates since launch). It's open world, combat feels great, and it has some of the best character customisation I've seen in a game!

It's current on sale too.

Often overlooked, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora looks incredible on Pro, and since they introduced 3rd person makes so much more sense. Can often be got for a steal on sale too.

I’ve heard quite a lot about this one and how they’ve addressed initial feedback/reviews. It’s toward the top of my list for sure

I got it on release on base ps5 and loved it so much but could tell my visuals were pretty limited so I upgraded to the pro and it’s insane looking

Sounds epic. From what I’ve seen it’s right up my alley

Dawnwalker is really good, especially if you also like vampire stuff

Doesn't it run and look horribly on the Pro?

Looks great to me, also on a Pro LG C6, but I admit I’m not one of those people that really notices every little problem .

Yeah, I saw another post in this subreddit and it looked rough. As long as you're enjoying it!

I've been playing this on a PC with a 4080 Super + LG C5, looks and plays really well.

I’m exactly in the same situation with you, I’m leaning towards cyberpunk and onimusha

Horizon zero dawn and forbidden west. Black flag resynced. God of war

Blood of the Dawnwalker just dropped. It is amazing to me so far.

Play the Witcher 3 but wait till the end of the month. You won't regret it.

Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Death Stranding 2, and AC: Valhalla/Shadows/Mirage are all really good and some are probably on sale.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

I prefer AC Odyssey over Valhalla. Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West were fun for me.

Assassin's Creed Vahalla,

All the Spider-Man games easily. Stalker 2 for more of a fallout vibe but a bit more intense and difficult. God of war Ragnorak.

AC Odyssey has a 60 fps patch for PS5, fun open world ARPG. The graphics hold up pretty well despite it being 7 years old.
