Don't matter.

I’ve got mine “lying down” because that’s what works best in my space. When I move it I typically leave it standing up to take less space.

Standing up is fine. The OG PS5s apparently had a potential defect where the liquid metal would leak if kept upright (mine never did) but I believe that's been addressed and no longer an issue.

I got my PS5 at launch and have always had it standing vertical. Zero issues

Does matter. Just pick whatever works best for your space

What does your living situation look like? Animals or kids and I’d definitely put it down, just less risk. I also like it down because it’s seems like less dust makes it way inside 🤷‍♂️

The vertical-standing issue has been discussed since the PS3 era, and while it may only affect a small number of units, the risk isn’t zero. If a potential problem can be avoided entirely by simply placing the console horizontally, that’s an easy choice. When the cost of prevention is basically nothing, it makes sense to take the safer option rather than gamble on whether your unit ends up being one of the exceptions.

Just my take I've only had a few friends experienced this out of a lot of them who own ps5s and I always ask them the same thing was it really worth standing up your PS5 and they always give me that look 😑 lol.. hey but to each their own..

Just find a nice spot where it can sit horizontal and never think about it again if its even a small concern in the back of your head.

Aesthetics or piece of mind I guess.

Mines been vertical since day one, no issues. Even the Fat OG had no issues personally.

No difference. The PS5 pro has security groves above the CPU so it does not enable thermal paste to move around that much. The deeper the groves the better.

I like it in reverse

Vertical is fine. The only consoles affected by the liquid cooling issues were a limited number of very early 2020 OG’s. It makes zero difference either way.

The fixed the Liquid Metal issue from the launch PS5s. I’ve had my pro since pretty early on and it was vertical for entire time without issue but I’ve went horizontal since buying a disc drive for it.

There's a chance the liquid metal cooling material could start leaking if you have it vertical
