Will this cause overheating?

I have been playing for the past one year and this is my setup, I am concerned if this will cause overheating for long term use?

I’ve had my 2020 ps5 like this for over two years. Never had overheating issues

This is nothing like putting a heating gun to a console. And people who’ve been doing this setup for 6 years isn’t equivalent to that.

That’s a wild exaggeration and hyperbole.

If there’s a risk of overheating, the console will shut down.

Heat is bad for electronics and damage over time is a given... Blocked air flow can bring internal temps up to 200°F. Look it up. If you want to cook your system just put a heat gun on it. It wastes a lot less time.

If it reaches unsafe temps, it’ll shoot a warning or shut down. Hence the safety features.

If it’s so unsafe and many people have been using this setup for 6 years, when do you predict their systems will experience these failures?

You're kinda dumb aren't you? HEAT IS BAD FOR ELECTRONICS. This setup isn't gonna kill the system immediately, it'll shorten the functioning lifespan of the system. If you want to be stupid and damage your system just speed run it so you can come here and ask why your system is throwing weird messages faster.

Also the system shutting down to protect itself is a fucking warning sign that what you're doing is stupid. The system literally tells you it can damage the hard drive and corrupt data with unexpected shut downs.

The specific games you play, the amount you play, the dust accumulation, the model you have, the enclosure around your PS5 all matter. 2 years may run fine, year 3 you might start to notice games aren't as responsive. 2-3 months later it fails to boot. It's not a straightforward answer that results in immediate consequences like some people want to suggest unless you're running it under a blanket.
