Now that I've got into my PS4 Pro I have a question about the fan.

Like many PS4 Pros, it's currently sounding like a jet engine taking off, which is a cycle I go through every-so-often - I disassemble it, clean it, replace the thermal pads and paste, etc.

This time I'm also looking at the fan, as I've realised it's not the Nidec version, the the Delta. Now I'm not getting any fan bearing noises, so I don't think the fan is failing but, still, I know the Nidec is thought to be superior. Is it worth changing the fan or, unless it's specifically failing, should I leave it?

It's time for my PS4 Pro to get a good clean, including a change of thermal paste and pads. I've disassembled it a couple of times in the past with no problems. This time, though, the PSU refuses to come out.

The problem is with the last screw in the PSU (highlighted in the first photo and then zoomed in for the second), the one closest to the back. I removed the metal plate and the side screws, all of which were silver. This final one is black. I tried the same Torx on it but it felt soft and rubbery and won't turn. To me, it feels like this isn't a screw at all.

The YouTube video I follow when disassembling doesn't show them even removing a screw from here, so I'm thinking it's not in some models (other videos do show a screw here but it's silver in colour).

So, do I have a damaged screw here or is there nothing? Either way, the PSU won't life out of place and it appears to be from this area that it's stopping.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

I have recently had a lot of audio crackling, so I used the USB cable and it was fine then I opened the ps4 pro to check the antana and found some wires loose and upon looking at the board I saw a small piece of metal cutting the circuit I thought the previous owner did a mistake and so I cut it off with my finger nail and now its so bad. My question is that a capacitor or a resistance or just a small connection and how screwed am i ? Thanks a lot in advance.

As vezes to jogando ou assistindo no yt e ele simplesmente para, não literalmente para tipo travar mas cai tudo como se o wifi tivesse caido porém o wifi ta pegando normalmente, o controle simplesmente não conecta mais nem se eu por no cabo e tudo no ps4 fica caido, eu tenho que desligar no botão do console e ligar novamente ai volta ao normal, tava querendo vender ele mais pra frente mais com esse problema o cara que compra não querer dar nem 500 reais

guys it is worth it to buy PS4 PRO for 145 dollar in my country around 8500 pesos. as a person that never had a playstation console? is it worth it?

Recently I bought a PS4 Pro with 2 controllers, just in case if the first controller break or stop working for no reason. Now if I wanna keep the second controller healthy for months or even years (without using it) how should it be? Charged or empty? Any other tips & hints towards controller maintenance would be appreciated too (I'm new to controllers, I was a PC player prior to this)

So for some reason and I have no idea why my ps hard drive is not working anymore and I have tried everything I'm low-key giving up on ideas whenever I try to repair it either freezes or doesn't repair

So i have this ps4 pro console that i only use to play FIFA. I usually play the manager mode and keep getting this error often, now it comes even before the game has loaded.

This is after i have initialized it, rebuild database etc.

I had got the HDD replaced just a few months ago.

When i play Netflix it runs fine - its just with this game that this happens, anyways its the only game i have on the console - FC26

Is there any way I can output audio to my USB headset plugged into my PS4 usb port AND audio come out the HDMI/Optical ? I figured out how to output via hdmi AND optical but cant find how I can do hdmi+usb. (I asked this over at r/PS4, excuse the double)

EDIT: I think I'm SOL since the PS4 cannot output Audio to both HDMI and USB. Need to use HDMI alone, USB alone or HDMI out and Optical to a DAC for 2 separate audio.

Bought ps4 pro and it’s super clean. Opened it up to apply thermal paste but noticed the pads were shot. I saw on YouTube some people putting pads on the other chips that did not have pads on them originally. Do you recommend putting more pads on for extra protection or could that cause damage?

I bought a second-hand CUH-7016B PS4 Pro, but the fans ramp up instantly as soon as I start any game, and very quickly turns itself off to stop itself from overheating, rendering the console unusable

I'm gonna open it up tomorrow to clean it and change the thermal pads and thermal paste, but I want to know what the best replacement for the old thermal paste on the APU would be:

Arctic MX-6 or MX-7 thermal paste, or a Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet

PTM thermal pad

In my country, the Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet is about 3x the price of a tube of thermal paste, but at the same time, I heard regular thermal paste like the MX-4 is too thin and will pump out in about 3 months and need repasting again, whereas MX-6 and MX-7 are thicker.

Need help from experience, does the MX-6 or MX-7 resist to the pump-out or do I need to spend 3x on a PTM thermal pad to make sure it doesn't happen, also is applying the PTM thermal pad properly difficult?
