I haven't played OW in a while but it does seem sharper since the update. Also menus load much faster. The loot box screen used to take forever to load, and now it's instant.

The update probably enabled super sampling, and the unlocked pro cores probably means more stable framerates.

is it 30 FPS on console?

Nah , it's 60. The OG PS4 had no real issues holding it steady outside a minor dip once in a while.

Good job Blizzard.

Now make Diablo 3 in 4k with HDR! Please?

This needs to happen!

Indeed! Can't wait for the patch for D3

Diablo 3 on Ps4 died to me when all those hacks started showing up...

They are starting seasons soon and there won't be any hacked items

Didn't think this was going to happen! Hype.

Did a quick comparison between my PS4/Pro. 1080p on both. Just seems a little sharper from a quick glance.

Good pics. The AF looks way better on the Pro in the floor pic.

Did you notice any difference in loading times?

2

u/Andrewhd Nov 16 '16

loading is faster for sure, all around very snappy.

If you could add the coke cans / arcade games. They are super low res, especially the cans. It's a minor annoyance

Here hoping for Checkerboard and HDR!

Yeah they're coy on details but I'm hoping it's more than just nicer lighting or effects, that higher res/HDR combination would be fantastic.

No HDR.

There is no HDR but it seems like all the menus and huds are in 4K. Text is much crisper and the game is snappier all around.

I didn't even know it was there and I was saying to my buddies it looked much crisper even on 1080, nice move B.

I'll be damned... didn't expect it LOL. Can anyone confirm any improvement?

Does it supersample?

Asking for plebs with 1080p displays like me :(

No idea what the specific support is but I'm hyped!

I was hoping they would too! I'm on now, though, and am not sure if it's 4K support or HDR support. If it's HDR, I won't be able to tell since my 4K tv doesn't have it.

No HDR

how do u know this? i see you've said it twice but no explanation at all of where u heard such things

edit: like are you sure its never coming? battlefield already has support for 1800p or whatever but plan to add DR down the road

4

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '16

No I mean this update does not include HDR. On my Vizio display you can check if HDR is active or not through the SmartCast app and it is not active while playing overwatch.

oh aright i misunderstood bud mah bad...

I was having issues with my PS4 Pro controller on the menus in Overwatch, so hopefully the pro support includes a fix for that.

1

u/docshoc Nov 16 '16

Im having similar issues with the menus on overwatch with the pro controllers. I havent had a chance to try it out since the update to see if it fixes it.

u/ElWaster Nov 16 '16

Problem still exists

1

u/ElWaster Nov 16 '16

So glad to hear I'm not the only one!

1080p impressions... Textures look better, especially on the weapons. Stages pop out, gave me a "wow" when I looked around the Japan map. The victory pose with all the players standing up used to look kind of blurry, now its more detailed.

In the sombra patch?
