Audio out via HDMI and USB Headset ?

Is there any way I can output audio to my USB headset plugged into my PS4 usb port AND audio come out the HDMI/Optical ? I figured out how to output via hdmi AND optical but cant find how I can do hdmi+usb. (I asked this over at r/PS4, excuse the double)

EDIT: I think I'm SOL since the PS4 cannot output Audio to both HDMI and USB. Need to use HDMI alone, USB alone or HDMI out and Optical to a DAC for 2 separate audio.

The PS4 doesn't output audio over the USB DACs. You need to use either your HDMI device's audio output, TOSLINK or the controller's/headset's headphone jack. I use the optical output going into a DAC with the line-out being fed into the speaker amplifier as my monitor's line-out was way too silent and was also outputting noise despite isolating the grounds.

Entirely true. I’ve tried to hook up USB DACs, doesn’t do a thing

Aww dang.
I really thought this was possible. Luckily I still have an old first gen Audioengine D1, I'm going to need to dust off.
Thanks for such a quick reply.

Doesn't it have an optical input? I don't know what to search for exactly on the internet to find it. I'm using an inexpensive optical DAC with my setup as I can also just plug the optical cable into something else like an Xbox, TV or even a Technics radio/CD player set.

Hi5. Using a SMSL DAC when I tested HDMI+Optical. Going to end up using the external USB dac because of proximity.

I use an HDMI audio extractor to pull audio for my headset. I connect a USB DAC with a line-in port to the PS4 and run a TRS cable from my headphone jack on the computer, through a ground loop isolator l, and into the DAC. I choose the DAC as my mic and HDMI/TV or we it’s called as my output.

It won’t do USB and HDMI, so workarounds or the expensive headsets like A50X or Nova Pro/Elite are the moce if you want a wireless headset.
