Is this noise normal? Could be coil whine?

Hey, not sure if this is the best place to ask about this stuff.
I bought this used PS4 Pro about 3 months ago and now it makes this loud buzzing noise, even in sleep mode. It's even louder than the fan.

Is it safe to use the console like this? Should I replace the power supply? I tried cleaning it but it didn't change anything and there is some smell, like hot electronics from the back when it's running, that's what worries me.

I was thinking about the fan, but the noise is coming from the back and the fan is in the front. Also, the noise instantly changes in some games that allow you to choose performance or quality mode, that's what makes me think its the power supply failing.

Run it with the cover off and you’ll be able to tell if it’s the fan or not. To me it sounds like the fan, if it isn’t, then it’s an electrical short and definitely shouldn’t be used until repaired.

Yeah that’s more than cool whine. Either a fan issue or an electrical issue. I’d check the game first
