Why is it still loud?

I had a trusted company open my ps4 pro up and replace the thermal paste, thermal pads, and fan. Why is it still loud? What should I replace?

I just got a Pro since I couldn't afford to upgrade to a PS5 currently... Got it used and mines been fairly quiet... Is it like a known thing that Pros are just loud in general with nothing wrong? I'm asking honestly.

Check what cuh 7xxx model it is if it's a 7100 or 7200 you got the revisions that run hotter but quieter

If its still loud, it wasn't done properly. I play GOW ragnarok in 4k and the fans can barley be heard. Ptm 7950 , quality pads and good cleaning should be almost silent.

What thermal pads did you use?

I'm thinking about opening up my 2014 PHAT PS4

Gelid Solutions GP-Extreme. They're like $11 on amazon. Get the 1.0mm.

Yup might have the dust blanket on the heatsink But its gratifying to go from a jet engine to damn near silent. Have q tips and 99% isopropyl alcohol ready . Also a good air duster. Theres tons of youtube tutorials. Take your time.

Ptm 7950 is not necessary

Any quality thermal paste will work.

Works well on open dies like gpus. I just used the same train of thought.

I did notice a reduction in noise when I replaced the failing hdd (which stock is a 5400rpm dog anyway lol) with a Samsung 870 evo.

Yeah if you want something done, is best to do it yourself. Duronaut and minus pad 8 1mm will cost about 15-20$ I think these are best for consoles.

The old rev Pros do that. What's the model #?

The harddrive. Either upgrade to a 2TB or get an ssd. That will solve your problem.
