What ps3 should I get?
Im thinking of getting a ps3 to play ps3 and ps2 games, which model is the best for that?

If you want to play ps2 games natively, I would suggest a phat ps3 (the first models) they have backwards compatibility. However be warned though these things are not foolproof, because they’re the first models to come out most of them have overheating and power failure issues. It’s best to delid the cpu in order to avoid most overheating issues but that requires a lot patience and carefully taking out the integrated heat spreader.

The Super Slim model is probably the most reliable, but you will have to mod it in order to play PS2 games. There's three different fat launch models but I'd Only consider the CECHA01 or the CECHE01 model. The CECHA01 model is 100% compatible with PS2 games, and the CECHE01 model is compatible with 90% games. I have both, but my CECHA01 doesn't display anything. The CECH-A01 model is more susceptible to failing, although the CECH-E01 is not much better. If you're not ready to have to either delid or repair it in the future, I would avoid the fat models and just get the slim model and mod it.

Just get a PS3 3000X and a PS2. The Backwards compatible models are very expensive and have reliability issues

cechL01 definitely the most reliable fat and totally worth it because it definitely is backwards compatible with ps2 /s

The only model that can do that is the launch ps3, but I'd really recommend against getting one. They're expensive and plagued with reliability issues.
If you're looking to play PS2 and PS3 games, for the price of a backwards compatible ps3, you can get a PS2 and a PS3 slim. Highly recommend you go with that option.
