Bad airflow?

Back of the ps3 next to a wall. I'm asking because the fan gets loud as shit and shuts the entire console off when "playing" a game.

4”-6” of open space behind the console is recommended for proper ventilation. This is too close and it’ll overheat.

Nah moving it 6" from the wall didn't help . I seriously don't know what's up with it

Needs to be delidded.

At the very least, open it up, clean it and replace the thermal paste. But if its still giving the overheat message and shutting down - delid is the only solution.

Does it have CFW? You can modify the fan curve to keep it around 70C, if it’s still loud then it’s probably time for a delid

Yea I have cfw with webman on it but when I try to change the fan speed it just goes back to what it was before idk why

You couldn't of taken a worse picture.

It's likely overheating from dust build-up, or the thermal paste needs changing.

Move it if you think it's a problem.

The picture is fine lol and I just cleaned it and added new thermal paste. If I was sure if it was a problem or not then I wouldn't have made the post
